As a mom of three, I understand how busy these last few months of the year can be. From school activities to family photos and planning ahead for the holiday season, it can be a lot to juggle.

My vision for home is for it to be a space that supports your lifestyle and season of life, which can look different for each family. Achieving this doesn’t always require a large-scale remodel or building a new home. Sometimes it can look like rearranging your furniture or setting up a coffee station to make your mornings feel more exciting.

Our ordinary lives are an extraordinary gift. Sometimes, all that’s needed is a perspective shift to see all the blessings right in front of us.

When we were designing the Cozy Colonial home, my clients wanted a large dining room to comfortably sit 12 people at the table.

While this required more square footage than most dining rooms, it’s a good reminder that homes are designed for real people and their real moments, not for what the resale value could be or what Pinterest says to do.

My clients later sent me a selfie of their dining room full of their loved ones – perhaps the greatest compliment 🤍

I was grateful to be able to share their joy of being in the space we had envisioned many months before.

Okay, this is my last post about the Stoffer Home Kitchen Collection Tour, but I just couldn’t let these beautiful photos stay in my camera roll.

In the 1926 Tudor, I loved the cabinet color that is so rich and the checker board floor with it too.



The fluted countertop edge 😍

Arches done right. There is repetition - doors, arched entry and the stair profile mimics the curved lines too.

The brass insert in the island caught my eye. Not a typical detail. Whenever you have a seam there is a choice - you can try to disguise or embrace it and highlight it. This draws quiet attention to the seams and I love it.

I felt very validated seeing this on her shelf as it is in my design library too and I refer to it often!

I love the leaded glass and the arched doorway. The keystone above the door has a stylized deer on it too 😍

I imagine some announcements being made from this perch to the cooks below in the kitchen 😉

Loved the simplicity of this floor tile in the pantry

I love the arched opening and the way the stairs splay to create a simple but elegant entrance into the kitchen.

Loved the seating options and the cozy fireplace in this kitchen

I love how this sectional is tucked into a large bay window. Also a great example of mixing modern pieces into a historic home. The magic is in the mix.

You could get some serious pot washing done with those 2 large faucets! 

I loved the racetrack shaped table. The floor makes a big impact so other surfaces don’t need to add a lot visually - walls and ceiling are quiet here.

This little built in next to the dining table. Beautiful mesh panels on the doors!

Oh I love a good alignment. Here the front door aligns with the cooktop and the kitchen sink (behind!).

A few of the many details that caught my eye during the Stoffer Home Kitchen Collection Tour, including this breakfast  nook in the kitchen. It’s a great place for a relaxed coffee. 



I loved the built-in shelving next to the window seat, and look at that fireplace in this kitchen too! 😮 Lots of options to settle in and make yourself at home.

A contoured backsplash is always a yes 😍

A charming and light filled pantry! The glass shelf doesn’t obscure the view but gives a place to display some favorite pieces.

The Park Hills laundry room with wallpaper on the ceiling and a pretty drying rack.

Loved the floor tile and cabinet color of the Park hills pantry.

The Duchess Cottage coffee bar and window seat. I love the open connected room that is part living and part kitchen.

Loved the niches on either side of the oven to hide cookbooks and mixer in the Duchess Cottage.

Love that oven color and the utensil drawer nearby!

The most dainty penny tile I’ve ever seen 😍

Brass outlet cover and island feet

A place for pot lids and larger plates. I also love the inset cabinetry!

Hands down the best sliding door hardware I’ve run into!

Love the cabinet color, built in hood and the checker floor!

The dark green pantry with the checkered floor was a chef’s kiss!

I loved the wallpaper (also on the ceiling) as well as the beautiful detailing of this casing profile.

I loved the brackets in these openings and the framed view of the grand piano beyond in the 1926 Tudor.

I love these lights and the gold leaf, clean lines, and subtly traditional detailing.

Another great appliance garage in the 1926 Tudor!

The larger marble tiles are a great alternative to other backsplash options. There are less grout lines than standard subway tile and adds beautiful detailing with the trim pieces that look like panel molding.

The Cozy Colonial Pantry is a moody, highly functional room finished with details you have to see up close.

Most of this home is light and airy, but this pantry is a delightful departure from that. It was designed to enhance the ease of hosting with extra appliances and space for dishware / glassware used for hosting. The pocket door allows it to be either a beautiful extension of the kitchen or hide behind the scenes hosting “magic.”
