Introducing the Welcome Home Refresh, a really special project I’ve been working on.

At first, my clients wanted to update the flooring with white oak floors, but in the end, they decided to work with their existing flooring.

This story is such a perfect example of how a refresh, with no structural changes, can still make a huge impact in your home. Fresh paint, new light fixtures, rugs and updated furniture & decor can help you love what you already have again!

This text from my client meant the world to me 🥹

While clients share feedback throughout the process, hearing reactions like this at the end of a project truly never gets old.

It’s an honor to be invited into my client’s homes and help create spaces that they love 🤍

A peek into the design process of a quaint kitchen remodel in Le Mars.

Each project begins by taking inventory of the current space to determine what’s working and what changes need to be made. From there, we move to sourcing inspiration that drives every design decision.

While most new construction homes require moving, my clients were able to stay on their existing acreage and build A Real Modern Farmhouse to better support their daily life.

We developed an open floor plan and brought in thoughtfully chosen materials that point to the modern farmhouse style they love. The goal was to support the hard working lifestyle of a farm and busy family within the walls of the home.

Interior design is first and foremost for people. It can be easy to see images of beautiful homes and forget that real people live in those homes.

Home is an expression of the unique individuals that live there. Each family has specific preferences and needs.

As your designer, I hold your bigger picture goals along with the myriad of delightful details that make up your home. Interior design is an investment in your sweetest moments as a family and most memorable gatherings with those you love.

In the last decade, freestanding bathtubs have made a major comeback, shifting from built-in styles of early 2000s homes to become a focal point of many bathrooms.

As with all home features, they’re not for everyone. While many of my clients love the function and look of a freestanding tub, others opt for a larger shower or an alcove style tub. Additionally, sometimes your preferences and needs change over time.

Learning the unique preferences of each client is an important part of my job as a designer. My role isn’t to push you toward trends but encourage you toward the decisions that will help your house feel more like home.

I’d love to hear your perspective. Are you team freestanding bathtub or not?

Building a new home or remodeling your current one is not always an easy decision. There are many factors to consider, including what’s best for your family and in your season of life.

Over the years of helping clients with both directions, I’ve gathered questions that can help guide the journey for you.

I’d love to continue the conversation. Leave any thoughts or questions in the comments below!

When designing the hood vent of the Brown St. New Build, we went back and forth between two options before landing on a final decision.

It can be really difficult to visualize all of the possibilities, which is why 3D renderings serve as such a valuable piece of my full service design offering.

I’ve learned that the word “hospitality” can mean something completely different to each person.

Perhaps you prefer small, intimate gatherings or you love hosting large groups in your home. I love getting to be part of creating a space that supports your family’s goals and vision.
