I am sitting in the Chicago airport waiting to board flight back to a Sioux Falls. While waiting, I am deleting photos from my camera role. I came across this one and wanted to plant this idea with you. We often wonder what needlepoint to give to the men in our lives. Our Suzanne purchased this Twins ornament from us. Rather than an ornament, she asked that we make it into a paperweight. We embroidered the bottom fabric and BJ weighted and rounded the top.
It could be a city where you have traveled, the face of a favorite pet, sports team, initials, etc. you get the idea. I love this!

Hi friends,
This is my second week posting from Texas. I have been in contact with the shop and with customers as items are ready to be picked up or shipped off to them. I have been getting a little stitching accomplished while away but never as much as I plan to do.

Memorial Day weekend is here! Yahoo! I hope you are enjoying activities with family and friends, or quietly stitching while listening to an audiobook.

I traveled to Texas for a granddaughter’s graduation from high school at the end of the week. But we managed to get quite a few pieces finished up before I left. Enjoy!

✨We had a positively glorious weekend running Operation Retreat Beta Test with our friends from the internet.

🪡If you’ve been with Barbara’s for a while, you know that we’ve hosted big retreats in fancy ballrooms in the past, but Dan and I wanted to try something different. So we asked a dozen of our online buddies if they would come and let us try out a simpler outline on them.

🪡 All in all, we had an absolute blast. We know where we can tighten things up a little, but we’re thrilled with the experience we were able to put together for our pals!

🪡YES, we will be opening up this opportunity to everyone soon. Additionally, if you have a group of stitching friends who want to reserve a weekend at the shop, we would love to work with you to find a time that works.

When I do the finishing post every Sunday, it makes me pause and reflect on the date. We are halfway through May folks!! May in Sioux Dakota finally brings us consistent warmer weather. People are pulling plants out that have been indoors all winter. Flowers are getting planted.
Just the green color of the grass and trees as they bud out makes me gloriously happy!
