It was the night of LCF 2024 and I was in my hotel room in full-sobbing mode. We’re talking the ugly cry that won’t stop.
I had just wrapped up a weekend vending at Little Craft Fest and I was desperately trying to get everything in our suitcases…but every bag was over 50lbs. When I looked up the fee for an overweight bag on SW, I had a complete melt down. Our flight was leaving early the next day and there was no time to arrange shipment of products back home. I was too tired to think straight and lost it.
Luckily, my two heroes stepped in. had a brilliant idea and offered to take a suitcase with her back to St Louis, so Mr JoJo headed to the store 20 minutes before closing to secure the cheapest hard sided suitcase he could find. Another couple hours later, this tan little guy was packed, all our bags weighed under the limit and a giant pile of things were left to the garbage (RIP some products and a lovely strand of heavy lantern lights from Costco).
I don’t know what possessed me, but I slapped one of the beautiful stickers I bought in the marketplace that weekend on the suitcase. It was VERY not like me. I like my items pristine and often simplistic. I never use my vinyl stickers, I hoard them. But dang… I was just relieved I didn’t have to spend a chunk of my profits from the event just to get my suitcases home, so I just had fun.
And so Lil’ Beige became the transport for products in our shop. Sometimes I have it. Sometimes it’s at Mackenzie’s three states away. It’s more than a back up bag, it reminds me of an obstacle we faced and overcame.., and I love adding stickers from some of our favorite shops on it. ❤️
Anywho, I just added some stickers and wanted to share its story with you all!
