If you are a fan of Disney, I definitely recommend the Keys to the Kingdom Tour! We finally did it this weekend after talking about it for years and I think it’s honestly one of the best values for experiences at Disney. We paid $145ish per person with our Disney Chase card and the tour is 5 hours long. It also includes lunch that you pre-order and it’s ready for you when you break and includes a bottled drink you can take with you sans disgusting Florida ice cubes 😂. We walked onto Jungle Cruise 🛥️ and got a behind the scenes tour of the how, what and why of the ride and then entered through the servants quarters of haunted mansion 👻 to ride that as well! We went backstage and saw parade floats - MALIFICENT was amazing 🐉 - up close and then traveled through the utilidoors to see some cast member only areas - like the seamstress and costuming 🧵 🐭. In a holiday season they can see 1800 costume repairs a month..insanity. I literally stood right next to Cinderella’s dress and the fairy godmothers cape..oh and bullseyes leg pads 😂 “Tiana” walked by in full make up (yes there is a cosmetology and hair cut studio) to get dressed and we later saw her in the parade!
I think the biggest takeaway was ALL of the people that created the magic - and the little ways that the park and company paid tribute to them. It was really cool to slow down and feel the history behind it all. You do need park admission in addition and it can be hard to set aside 5 hours of a park day but we still had plenty of time to ride all the other things when we were done since it started at 8:30. Our tour guide, Ashleigh, was AMAZING and her love for what she does showed the entire tour. Definite must do - and I would 100% do it again!
Side note - fall and spring are probably a little better than the middle of summer since you do spend a lot of time in sun but the guide was very mindful to find us shade everywhere we went!
