Happy Birthday Queen!

One of the things I’ve always loved and respected about Terry McMillan’s books is how she celebrates true friendship between Black women. The kind that makes room for honesty, mistakes, growth, unconditional love and real support.

I love that Terry McMillan reminds us of that that kind of friendship/sisterhood is real, beautiful and possible.

One of the things I love most about J. California Cooper’s writing is the good old-fashioned common sense/ advice you find between the pages.

I’ve always felt books are therapy because sometimes it’s exactly what your heart needs to hear.

I love enjoying somebody else’s story while finding a little something for myself.
