The dahlias are starting to bloom. Earliest blooms I’ve ever had, June 16th.
I left the tubers in the ground since the yard has good drainage and it doesn’t get too cold here in the winter.

First handful of roses picked for the 2026 season.
As usual, the pink Summer Romance is the most prolific bloomer. Alabaster might be my new favorite white rose which says a lot because Tranquility is a strong contender.

One of the best displays I’ve seen of Wisteria is located where???….

Right here in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle at one of the flower wholesalers I visit.

Such a treat to see this stunning display of wisterias!

I just have to share it with all of you!
I did consider leaving on the original “noise” of city life - planes overhead, cars honking, etc. Nice to know there is so much beauty in a very industrial part of the city.

In this post I have a roundup of photos I took around Milan and Lake Como, Italy.

A few adorable shops, some of the flowers are fresh and a few silk ones on the permanent display.
Wisterias, roses, peonies in bloom.
The last two photos are of a residential skyscraper in Milan that is covered in trees and shrubs. The Bosco Verticale is 11 stories and built in 2014.

Visiting Villa Monastero Garden located in Varenna, along Lake Como in Italy.
The statues and garden urns added so much visual interest to this stately garden. Roses, peonies, and other flowers in bloom. Over 900 plant specimens live in this botanical garden. I enjoyed the citrus trees, the scent from their blossoms is wonderful.
