June is right around the corner! And to be honest, Memorial Day is throwing me off because it was so early this year.

I have a week open this month because I was supposed to go to the OBX for an Art Festival but decided to back out due to gas prices and lack of communication.

So what are we going to make that week? Give me ideas of what you want and which day!

Check out these colors!

This is the speckled colored clay I mentioned a few posts ago. I made spoon rests, soup bowls, pasta plates, and a couple larger bowls.

The verdict..... Though they are pretty, some of the plates did some weird things. Like cracking on the bottom but not the whole way through after the glaze fire. Which doesn't typically happen.

Let me nerd out for a minute. So plates are notorious for cracking. Because of the wide flate area and small walls they develope a tension "S" crack typically right through the middle. 9 times out of 10 this happens during the first bisque fire. Or right after being made and drying. So it's not that I don't like making plates, it's more I cant guarantee they will get made in a reasonable amount of time.

Some of these however, developed a raised crack almost a waze marking. Like I said, not the whole way through but just on the surface. Which is a first for me. I will grab a photo and post in the comments later.

Busy day at the studio! And I still have to glaze 😭😭😭That's a future Becca problem. 🤣
