Remembering Sheana Davis

I had the good fortune of knowing Sheana for many years, first through our work together at Ramekins Culinary School, where she shared her passion for cheesemaking, teaching, and all things culinary. As the force behind The Epicurean Connection, she was endlessly curious, particularly about the French traditions of cheesemaking and always eager to educate and share her knowledge.

One of my fondest memories of Sheanna was the morning of the Napa earthquake on in 2014. We were all jolted awake and rushed downtown to assess the damage. Our shops were directly across from one another. I had lost antiques and w**e was pouring out of her front door. Amid the chaos, there was Sheanna, offering help and looking out for her neighbors. It was such a testament to the spirit of our little Sonoma community.

Years later, when we were at Cornerstone, Sheanna introduced me to a wonderful woman named Lulu,, whom she called her “prize.” She told me I had better take good care of her or I would have Sheanna to answer to! She was only half joking. Lulu has been with me ever since and I have Sheanna to thank for that extraordinary gift.

That was Sheanna. Fiercely loyal, hardworking, generous with her knowledge, and protective of the people she loved. A devoted wife and mother, a teacher, a friend, and someone who contributed so much to the fabric of our Sonoma community.

Sheana, you will be remembered with great affection and gratitude.

Have you ever heard of French chocolate trading cards? 🇫🇷

In the 19th century, French department stores like Le Bon Marché began giving away beautifully illustrated collectible cards to entertain children while their mothers shopped. A rather brilliant marketing idea. Perhaps something to consider at Château Sonoma! 😉

Yesterday at 5th Street Farm, we brought these little treasures back to life through the art of collage.

What a joyful afternoon with an extraordinary group of women and the wonderfully talented Anna Corba guiding us. Everyone discovered their inner artist, creating pieces more beautiful than they ever imagined.

A special thank you to my sister Melanie for introducing us to this magical collection in the first place.

And the art continues at the farm! Ivy joins us November 7th for a watercolor workshop. Details coming next week. 🎨

Chocolate, Ch*****ne & Collage! 🍫🥂

We discovered the most extraordinary 19th-century scrapbook filled with beautiful antique chocolate trading cards and we’re bringing these little treasures back to life!

Join us this Saturday for a creative afternoon with artist Anna Corba, who will guide us in making our own works of art inspired by these charming historic illustrations.

We’ll be sipping Ch*****ne, tasting delicious chocolate, and creating together in the cozy barn at 5th Street Farm.

A lovely way to spend a fall afternoon, don’t you think?
