Cat's Cradle

Cat's Cradle The Cat's Cradle Country Shoppe is a unique combination of country/farmhouse decor, repurposed fur We also love decorating for the seasons and the holidays.

This page is to share info about our shoppe as well as share so many great ideas on country/farmhouse/primitive decorating and repurposing projects. We have been in business for over 30 years and live, love, and work our dream. We hope to inspire others to also follow their dreams whether it be taking on a project, decorating their homes, or even starting their own business. In our workshops, we

are always coming with something new... displays, furniture, signs and lots of one of a kind pieces. This is a way we can keep our shoppe very unique and affordable. We are open 10 months of the year, being closed Jan and Feb. We love what we do and we love the friends we have made along the way.

Good Sunday morning....feels like it is going to be a relaxed vibe for me before opening. All looks good in the shoppe and all caught up {for now} in the workshop!

June is somewhat of an easy going month in the shoppe. Many are all set for summer, stopping by for a few fillers here and there, and some are just starting to think about Summer decor, esp with the weather we had in May.....cool and wet!
But we are ready for both! We have filled the shoppe inside and out....florals, Americana, home decor, lots of timer candles {perfect also for your outdoor gatherings}, lots of signs, textiles, candles etc etc. Although our Summer reorders will now slow down, our workshops are producing more!

While it is a bit quieter, I can take the shoppe for a bit on my own, and yesterday it gave Farmer Wayne a chance to head to the big garden before it got too hot, and start the planting....late for sure this year, but started...yay! Maybe he will get a chance to do the same today with the hope of getting most of it done this next week. Always a big relief to get that done!

After closing yesterday, we headed out to a graduation party, catching the last couple of hours of the event. It was in our friend's wonderful barn in Granby, the same barn that 3 years ago, we were getting it ready for our own 50th wedding anniversary party! Perfect venue! Nice way to end a good day!

My plans this AM is to use up some fresh picked rhubarb....some kind of dessert will be made! It is nice to take a little break from work and get into my kitchen for a short while before opening at 11AM

we hope you have a great day, whatever your plans are. enjoy the sunshine! we look forward to welcoming you in if a stop here is on your agenda. Time for me to start chopping the rhubarb!
see you later.....
One last tavern sign is heading into the shoppe this morning!

I recently rearranged my living room as I found the perfect spot for the antique blue butterchurn that I bought. Something had to go, so we are selling this nice ottoman! A little fraying on one corner but the rest is in great condition as we never used it and had a textile covering the top

Hello, first weekend of June...Summer weather will continue for a bit today, then possible thunderstorms later on will bring in cooler temps....70's sounds just about perfect to me.

June can be a special month, with lots of fun get togethers....weddings, graduations, anniversaries, bridal showers, i think it is the month of LOVE ❤ In the shoppe, we tend to be a bit quieter, but steady. We still work on summer and garden themed product and this year, lots of Patriotic, but our minds are making the shift to Fall. But have no fear, our shoppe is filled to the brim with all things Summer with more added often 🌞 we appreciate the support even during these quieter months :)

This morning I will get back into the shoppe, and get a few more areas reorganized. Time to get all the summer florals that are inside, out into the garden shed outside. Red geraniums are still the number one seller, so those that are still in the shoppe will fill the empty buckets outside.

Our garden signs have been restocked, as we are finally able to get a little ahead on these. "Leave room in your garden for Angels to dance" has been the most popular and we are caught up on orders for these.....so we have some out for sale this weekend! These have stakes so they can easily be placed right into your garden!

I also had a chance to rework garden flags. The Betsy Ross embroidered garden flags have been restocked as they sold out last weekend. And we also have the traditional American design as a garden flag as well, also stitched and embroidered. This is the final order for the season. these flags are 12.50 each
The regular garden flags are restocked as well, many with the 250th theme. these flags are 10.00 each. If you are interested in adding any of these to your summer gardens, stop by soon before we close for vacation at the end of June

On the homefront, we continue to play catch up in our own yard and gardens. We will be tackling the big garden this next week. Weather has us about 2 weeks behind, but we are looking forward to a bountiful harvest , even a little later than usual! We have been enjoying fresh picked asparagus {and it is still coming in strong!}, rhubarb and lots of lettuce! Soon I will be picking the garlic scapes, that will give those plants more energy to put into the last growth spurt for the actual bulbs. Garlic scape pesto freezes well! We are now waiting for mulch to be delivered and that will give the gardens that finished look....then we can sit back a bit and relax. How are your gardens doing??

Have a great weekend ahead. We open at 10 am and I will be yor greeter for most of the day but I know that Wayne will be poking his head in off and on as well
See you later!!!!
