Reselling vintage is funny because I can remember the exact booth I found something in three years ago… but not whether I moved the laundry to the dryer.

If you resell vintage or antiques, please tell me I’m not alone. 😂

Decorating with vintage really is a slippery slope because one minute you’re buying “a small lamp for the corner” and the next minute you’re emotionally attached to a brass candlestick you found at the thrift store for $4.99.

After that, every thrifted thing starts feeling important

Tell me your most specific vintage loving toxic trait because I KNOW you have one.

Oh, I forgot one…
You notice the decor in movies and shows more than the actors 🤪 tell me I’m wrong!!

At some point decorating with vintage stops being about decor.

It becomes slower mornings. Lamps on instead of the big light. Old art that makes you feel something for no logical reason. Tiny details nobody else would notice.

And weirdly… you stop looking at your house like it needs to be completely different to be beautiful.

You start seeing personality in the imperfections.
Patina. Texture. Signs that something has been loved before.

Your house starts feeling more like home.

What’s your weird emotional side effect from decorating with vintage?

I don’t know if it’s the lamps, the radio, or the fact that I’m 42 now 😭 but lately I keep finding myself recreating the feeling of coming home in the 90s.

Warm kitchen. Something cooking. Music playing softly in the background. Everybody just… home.

Maybe that’s why I love vintage so much.

Not because it’s old. Because it feels familiar.

I accidentally fell in love with my very normal, 90’s, builder grade home this weekend.

Not because it's perfect. Not because I spent thousands of dollars on a renovation. Not because it finally looked like someone else’s house online.

I stamped the top half of my living room walls, stepped back… and for the first time in a long time, it felt like home. Sounds so corny, I know. But it felt like it was always supposed to feel

And I think more women deserve to feel that way about their homes.

The goal was never perfection! It was creating a space that feels comforting, familiar, lived in, and full of the things you love.

A lamp in the kitchen. The weird idea. Handmade curtains. Old art. Tiny details no one else would think to do.

That’s the stuff that changes a house.

Not because it’s trendy. Because it feels like you.
