🍂 DID YOU KNOW? NOVEMBER IS ONE OF THE BEST TIMES TO PLANT TREES!
Many people assume spring is the best time to plant fruit trees and landscape trees, but...., fall can actually be even better!
Here’s why:
🌳 Less stress on your trees. Cooler temperatures mean newly planted trees aren’t fighting our intense summer heat.
🌳 Roots keep growing! Even when a tree loses its leaves and goes dormant, its roots can continue growing whenever soil temperatures are warm enough.
🌳 More time to get established. Trees planted in November have several months to develop roots before next summer’s heat arrives.
🌳 Less watering pressure. Cooler weather generally means less water loss, although newly planted trees still need regular moisture.
🌳 A head start on spring! When warmer temperatures arrive, your tree has already had time to begin settling into its new home.
A little planting advice: Dig your hole wider than the root ball, but no deeper. Keep the root flare at or slightly above ground level, mulch around the tree without piling mulch against the trunk, and water thoroughly after planting.
Don’t wait until spring to start planting! November is a wonderful time to add fruit trees, flowering trees, and many landscape plants to your yard.
QUESTION: Have you always planted trees in the spring, or did you know fall planting can be even better?
