❤️ Rustic Delights Community Help Board ❤️
I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for a while, and I’d really like to give it a try.
Sometimes people just need a little help.
Maybe you broke your arm and your grass needs mowed. Maybe you're overwhelmed and could really use some help cleaning your house. Maybe you need a room painted, leaves raked, a heavy piece of furniture moved, or someone to pick up a few groceries.
And sometimes there’s someone right down the road who has a mower, a free afternoon, or simply the ability to say, “Hey, I can help with that.”
So I’d like to use the Rustic Delights page as a place to help connect those people. ❤️
Here’s how it will work:
If you need help with something, send Rustic Delights a message with a short description of what you need. We’ll share appropriate requests on our page without your personal contact information.
If you see a request you can help with, comment that you’re willing to help or reach out to the person directly if they’ve chosen to identify themselves. From there, you two arrange the details between yourselves.
There is no charge to post a request, and Rustic Delights isn’t taking payment or a fee. This also isn’t meant to replace local businesses or skilled professionals. It’s simply a place for neighbors to help neighbors when somebody could use an extra set of hands.
A request might look like:
🆘 HELP NEEDED: Lawn mowing
📍 AREA: Spencer
📅 WHEN: This weekend
❤️ DETAILS: I broke my arm and can't mow for the next few weeks. I have a small yard and my own mower.
And maybe someone sees that and thinks, “I can do that Sunday.”
That’s it. That's the whole idea.
A few important things: Rustic Delights will only be providing a place for people to connect. We are not screening, employing, supervising, or endorsing volunteers, so please use good judgment and take normal safety precautions when meeting or inviting someone to your home. We also reserve the right not to post requests that aren't appropriate for the page.
I don't know exactly what this will turn into. Maybe five people use it. Maybe our community really grabs onto it.
But I know there are people around us who need help, and there are also a whole lot of good people who would be willing to help if they simply knew someone needed them.
So let's give them a way to find each other. ❤️
