Hello friends and followers! It's a new day and that means a new horror icon review! That's right, Spooktober isn't over yet. Today I have something a little different than what I've been doing. Focusing on an icon from more recent cinema, Kayako of The Grudge series. Probably one of the most instantly recognizable ghosts of our generation for sure. I tried to do my best at making an abbreviated history of Ju-On and the Grudge franchise here in the states, and discussing the various pitfalls and pluses with each respective film. This is meant to sort of be an overall educator on how the film has changed for the better and for the worse over the years. Tell me what you think in the comments below! Hello followers and those who have the page liked. I forgot to post this on here yesterday. It's a retrospective on how Freddy vs. Jason got made that I wrote yesterday. It's really a sort of overview of both icon's popularity and their respective series as well. Which leads up to discussion of how Freddy Vs. Jason took so long to get made, and why it was even made. Yo my peeps, I figured to do something special for Halloween this year, I'd review some films from horror icon's respective series' for the last 9 days or so of October. I know this has probably been done before by people in the past, but I just want a reason to work on my writing a bit and review some old classics I love. Today is not starting with a classic though, it's starting with Cult of Chucky, the newest entry in the Chucky franchise. Here's a poem I wrote today:

Opression (Depression):
Freedom of expression,
down with oppression.
These moral conundrums,
banging on war drums.
Fighting fire with fire,
liar against liar.
Hit the brake,
make your stake.
We have rights to unsheathe,
to break free of their leash.
If only given the power to use them,
that or maybe we'll lose dem(ocracy).
Kill or be killed it seems,
ripping apart at the seams.
Justifying the silencing of our rights,
for what did our founding fathers fight?
So we could silence those we treat with dissent,
anyone we find against us in discontent?
Or did they fight for our freedom from oppression,
and we forgot to even learn our lesson.
History doomed upon us, repeating,
until we find ourselves, retreating.
Find your voice inside and shout loud,
to every mountain and to every cloud.
Cry out for justice in a world unfair,
lest we settle for this horrid despair.
Justice will never be served in silence,
only bitter words and violence.

The Downward Decline - An original poem.

Hopeless,
Dark and fading fast.
The world falling into chaos,
And not a word is said.
Not a finger lifted,
Not a prayer to be heard.
The right and the left,
The wrong and the righteous.
Fighting all for nothing,
Instead of searching for common ground.
We leap at each other,
Man against man.
Like wolves on prey,
Nothing survives.
No winners,
Only losers.
We continue to spiral ever downward,
Doomed eternally to our own damnation.
Until we can agree,
Until we can just stop hating each other.
Until the bloodshed stops,
Until the love for fellow man can be rekindled.
Until we just learn to be as one...

False Freedom:

"Open your eyes and see,
Nobody is truly free.
There is no such thing,
It isn't real like a ring.
Not something given to us all,
Surely that would lead to our fall.
We are constantly censored for our thoughts,
A right for which our forefathers fought.
An artist should be allowed to challenge us,
If someone doesn't like it then there's the bus.
Take a ride and go away,
Didn't like you anyway.
Here's some vulgarity before you go,
F**k off with that s**t, stupid ho.
A creator's words are their very heart,
I will never support censoring art."

Hear Us:

Can you feel the repression?
The voices being silenced,
Opinions, omitted.
Can you hear the cry for morality ringing?
The bell tolling loudly,
Over these shouts of hatred.
Man pitted against man,
Lighting fire to their homes.
We will not stand idly by while ignorance rules,
We will scream defiantly for our brothers and sisters.
Have we no right to feel, to do, to think?
Have we no right to question?
Have we no right to fight authority?
Or are we in America,
A country founded on those inalienable values.
Our thoughts, our feelings, our emotions,
They all have value and merit.
Our voice needs to be heard,
Before it's too late.

Trust

It's hard to remember trust means,
when everything isn't what it seems.
This world is in a state of constant strife,
another innocent one has always lost a life.
The media with their vision so clouded,
paints us a world so overcrowded.
With unneeded things, items, and feelings,
it leaves our minds simply reeling.
Overfilled with things that don't matter,
turning our consciousness into batter.
Into which they beat their perfect vision,
with finely tuned and systemic precision.
They fill us with lies, grief, and depression,
beating us down with quick succession.
Then they sell us on things we must buy, do, or feel,
until we are sitting like dogs at their heel.
To support the system that continues oppression,
the system of our own depression.
Created by the media with their grandeur delusion,
when is it, then, time for a solution.
Change is something desperately needed,
before we leave ourselves defeated.
Trust is something forgotten now to the ages,
unless you are bold and courageous.
It is time now that we instill this value once more,
we must turn on this system and settle the score.
So speak your mind, no matter what,
Don't accept the media's lying s**t.
Make a change for this modern age,
You don't have to be a sage.
Simply rise up and stand against the oppression,
Be the generation to end this depression.
The generation to end all the lying,
The generation that keeps us from dying....
