Our clients almost always present us with their Pinterest boards. But is Pinterest a good design tool? Absolutely Yes and No. Yes: Pinterest is a great place to find inspiration. Say you're looking for a living room featuring an Eames lounger. TONS of inspiration photos! We love seeing your pins! But, No. If you show your designers your Pinterest boards and they don't A.) Question your reasoning and B.) Tell you they can do what you're asking for, but add their own creative spin to make your space uniquely yours... then you might not have the right designers. Anyone can copy a pretty picture. Can your designer create something for you that you can't find on Pinterest? That's the true sign of ingenuity. It’s been a hot minute since I properly introduced myself. I’m Deanna, the owner of Designology Luxury Interiors, Inc. After decades in the industry, I went back to school late in life for my Master’s in Interior Design, and Designology was born from that. I love design just as much as I love teaching design, so DesignOLOGY.

I’m serious about business, but I look at life with a lot of humor. You can always count on me for professional expertise with a side dish of sarcasm.

Currently, I’m also breaking in a new office greeter, she's still a puppy, but more on her later. A fun fact you might not know about me: I share custody of a candy-apple-red 1999 Harley Davidson Road King. I don’t get to ride as often as I’d like, but she’s always ready if I need to hit the open road.

What are 2 common blunders when crafting your dream home? Any guesses? 🤔

1. Skipping the designer, or delaying their hire. The best time to engage a designer is before permits! Waiting could lead to costly catch-up during construction.

2. Doubting your chosen designer’s expertise. After completion, saying “I should have trusted you” is too late! Find someone experienced, educated, and compatible with your vision.
