Dark Jedi 3D Printing & Cosplay

Dark Jedi 3D Printing & Cosplay I’m a Marine and Army veteran, proud dad, and lifelong Star Wars fan. What started as a love for Mandalorians became a full-on adventure in 3D printing.

I build, paint, and bring the galaxy to life one layer of filament at a time.

Sneak peek time. Last weekend I stepped into a whole new lane and suited up as a Mandalorian bounty hunter for a Star Wars fan film. My job in the story is simple. Track down the Jedi who slipped through Order 66 and collect that Imperial paycheck.

This little moment right here is just a taste. I had a blast on set and the energy was wild. I’m still wrapping my head around how I went from cosplaying at cons to actually being part of something like this.

More details are coming. Stay tuned because this is just the warm up.

Man, look at this helmet. Mystery Makers really snapped with this Mandalorian Punisher design. The first time I saw it, I just sat back like yeah… that one is going on my build list.

I probably will not start this until spring of 26, but I can already see how nasty this thing is going to look once it is printed and finished. It has that tough, aggressive look that fits right into the style I like to rock with my armor.

This one is definitely happening. Stay tuned.

Every once in a while, you come across someone who completely changes how you look at your craft. For me, that’s HK7335—also known as MakerBak3D. This guy has taught me more than just how to print. He’s taught me patience, precision, and how to bring raw files to life. The model in this pic is his design, the HK K-Bar. Simple screenshot, but a big reminder of how far I’ve come because of solid mentorship and community. Salute to one of the real ones in the 3D world.

I’ve finally cracked the case. After months of drama, failed prints, and a few choice words I can’t repeat here, I figured out the real enemy—the printhead. Every time something went wrong, that was the culprit. Either a clog the size of Texas or a fried board. Lesson learned: if you own a Neptune 4, keep a spare printhead ready like it’s an emergency backup generator. Because when it goes out, everything stops.

For the past eight months, it’s been survival mode in the print room. One week the Neptune 4 Max would be down, the next week the 4 Plus would decide it needed “personal time.” It’s like they were taking turns calling in sick. But now, for the first time in forever, both machines are running smooth. The lights are on, the hum is steady, and I’m back in business. Let the printing marathon begin.

Cosplay rule #1: Hot glue fixes everything.
Cosplay rule #2: Hot glue burns remind you of rule #1.

Non-cosplayers think I’m crazy for spending hours crafting armor.
Meanwhile, I’m over here praying my 3D printer doesn’t give up on life mid-print!

This weekend’s plan: NC Comic Con in Durham. Saturday’s my day to check out the artists, see some armor builds, and probably walk away with something I don’t need but definitely want. If you’re going, you already know—it’s always a good time.

You ever put on your cosplay and instantly forget how to act normal?
Like, why am I posing in the mirror like I’m in a live-action trailer?

Every time I say, “I’m not doing another build for a while,”
I find myself on Etsy three hours later, adding armor files to my cart.
