It started with my angel baby, Gabrielle Haven...
September 10, 2019 was the worst day of my life as I delivered our fourth child, stillborn. I can’t even begin to explain the heartache and devastation. I asked my husband if we could name her Gabrielle Haven, meaning “Angel in Heaven” and of course he agreed.
I’ve always adored and looked up to my father. He’s the one who always says the right things to give me a different outlook in life. When I was younger we would make these yard displays out of wood. One day I started thinking about it dealing with the worst heartache. I knew I needed something to pour my heart into so I asked him for one of his old templates. I never realized my love for painting until that moment. It calmed me and was the best therapy I could have asked for. I had made several wood yard displays for family members and they had asked if I ever thought of selling them. I will admit at first I thought they were crazy but as the days went on I started to think of how much I looked up to my father. I’ve always wanted to be just like him. He’s a small business owner in Cincinnati, Ohio and one of the nicest, caring and giving individuals you would ever meet in your life.
I woke up one day knowing I needed to do this. I wanted to keep my baby girl’s name alive and do something positive. So I started experimenting . 2020 was the start of a new journey for myself and family. I created Gabrielle Haven Designs and opened up an Etsy shop.
I am living life to the fullest as I know my daughter would want me to. She fought hard to live and I owe her the same determination.
