I am Cindy Canfield, owner of canfieldcreations & THE YARN PATCH, a store where you will find unique, usable fiber art. I battled cancer and am now living proof that determination, and perseverance pays off. Making art is therapeutic, but the real rewards are seeing others love my work as much as I enjoy making it. Quite often I take throw-away items like torn sheets, or clothing and recycle them
into useful woven placemats, rugs, etc. I make only one-of-a-kind pieces unless it's a set, and design most of my patterns. I have a weaving studio that showcases my work and provides a venue for selling it at The Shepherd of the Hills, an Adventure Park & home to the longest running outdoor drama in the USA. CHECK OUT theshepherdofthehills.com for information about events. Also you can see samples of my creations on my etsy page & bestofmissourihands.org
I taught art to over 600 elementary children the last year I taught and loved it! I retired in 2012 after 29 years and have been creating full-time, ever since. I have taught art to all ages, but especially enjoyed the innocence and imagination of the younger ones. When I grow up I want to be an artist, teacher, or weaver. Well, maybe not! Everyone has to grow, and I continually grow and learn as I create and meet new people. I am living my dream! Being able to create everyday and share my craft with new onlookers is a wonderful life and I am fortunate to live it! If you would like to see me in person creating, please stop by canfieldcreations & The Yarn Patch located at The Shepherd of the Hills Adventure Park & Homestead, Branson, Missouri where I will be demonstrating weaving. I look forward to sharing with you my craft.
