Story Time:
We started our Farmstand last year, but started making sourdough over two years ago. We have tested and tried many different recipes, techniques, and so on. We have finally reached a recipe and technique that works and produces amazing bread. As long as we have a good working oven… That being said, what we haven’t told everyone is we have 3 normal ovens that we have been rotating in and out of the house like a game of musical ovens 😑 our original oven is a Samsung, works like a champ, however one of us broke the top. So the replacement for it is more that the oven is worth. But we keep it for the oven. Our second oven is a GE, works great! But.. i had broke the top to start. So we replaced that. Got it going. Annnnd, then it was throwing codes for the temp sensor, replaced that. Then codes for the oven burners, replaced those. Then it would fault out and pop the breaker. Let me tell you, I was feeling like the universe was saying hang up the apron for the sourdough baking.
We chased every last problem we could to fix that darn thing. Even had our friend at Silent H Electric come run a new appliance cord from the breaker box. Ha! Problem solved!! 🎉
WRONG!!! For the love of God!! Last thing we could replace is the control board. In the mean time I had bought another oven off of marketplace, a beautiful LG which worked beautifully. Until.. the burner went out in that oven too. At this point iam laughing hysterically about this utter nonsense with the ovens. So back to the control board issue. We put it in today, and put it all back together. Now we haven’t used this oven in probably 1-2 months. And I was so fed up with the darn thing I just threw it in our oven storage without cleaning or anything.. and we get it going after the umpteenth repair. And.. FIRE 🔥 in the Damn oven folks!! 🫠 you’ve got to be kidding me right?! So currently we are having a pow wow in the backyard, because the house got filled with smoke from the fire.
It’s getting a deep cleaning once it’s cooled and then we will start again.
I don’t know if any bakers have ever experienced such a mess with their baking. But Good Lord!!
Here’s to hoping we can have a normal oven we can use in our kitchen, without playing musical ovens! 🎶🍪🍞 we would like to thank everyone for their support and coming to our stand. You have no idea what that means, and how it fulfills something in our hearts to share with the community. Thank you all for coming and visiting and trying our bread, treats and everything else we make. One of these days I would like to do a meet and greet and thank as many people as I can in person!
Hopefully this story gives you a laugh, because it’s just hilarious at this point!
