Luna checking out some simple ornaments I’m working on. I’ve made over a dozen so far and attached ribbon hangers using some plastic snaps I had on hand. I got this little deaf girl last year and didn’t even bother with a tree last year because she’s a little stinker. This year the tree is up, but only with fabric ornaments. Turns out it was a good choice…. I have to re-hang them every morning. Bonus: They make great cat toys too!

Another easy item to sew that can use up smaller scrap fabric. Just place a piece of felt between 2 pieces of fabric, making sure the ‘pretty’ sides of the fabric are facing out. Draw your shape on one side then sew on the line. Use pinking shears to cut around the outside. Before or after pinking, you can ’quilt’ the ornament if you wish.

Ribbon or metal hangers can be used to hang on the tree. I chose to use snaps, but you could sew in a button hole, just poke a hole and use traditional wire ornament hangers, sew on a button then attach a ribbon or hanger… the choice is yours.
