The best parties happen in our kitchen!

This private event on June 18 joined Jeff Friesen for an evening of great food, great company, and a menu designed to pair perfectly with a love of wine.

Guests created:

🥗 Red pepper salad with red wine-herb vinaigrette
🥩 Oven-roasted beef tenderloin with roasted red grape wine sauce
🥟 Homemade ricotta ravioli with chardonnay cream sauce
🌿 Roasted asparagus
🍫 Fabulous chocolate cake

The best parties happen in our kitchen!

This private Tuscan Affair Party on June 18 brought guests together for an evening of Italian-inspired cuisine, great conversation, and hands-on cooking with Mickey Kitterman.

The menu featured:

🦐 Shrimp and scallop scampi
🥩 Seared rib-eye steak with rosemary and roasted garlic
🧀 Baked polenta with gorgonzola and spinach
🥕 Roasted balsamic vegetables
🍇 Blackberry gelato served in pizzelle cups

🎂✨ Every great cake starts with a solid foundation—and a little buttercream magic.

Our Icing on The Cake class with Amanda Klenov on June 18 guided students through the art of cake decorating from start to finish.

Working with six-inch vanilla cakes fresh from the oven, guests learned:

🎂 How to level and prepare a cake for decorating
✨ The secrets to a smooth crumb coat and flawless finish
🧈 Proper buttercream consistency for decorating success
🌸 Piping techniques using a variety of pastry tips

Students practiced creating:

🌿 Leaves
🌹 Rosettes
🌀 Swirls
🎀 Ruffles
✨ Shell borders

The result was a collection of beautiful, personalized cakes—and everyone took their masterpiece home to enjoy.

Our Another One Bites the Crust class with Lydia Gwin on June 18 celebrated sweet and savory pies in all shapes and sizes.

Guests rolled, filled, baked, and enjoyed:

🍗 Muffin tin chicken pot pies with stuffing crust
🍳 Eggs Florentine and gruyère breakfast slab pie with a hash brown-bacon crust
🍋 Hand pies filled with raspberry-lemon marmalade and mascarpone
☁️ Mile-high lemon meringue pie

From comforting savory creations to bright citrus desserts, this hands-on class proved that pie isn't just for dessert.

Whether baked in a muffin tin, rolled into a hand pie, or piled high with meringue, every crust was worth celebrating.

Our private Knife Skills for Youth Event on June 18 gave this energetic group the opportunity to build confidence in the kitchen while learning one of the most important culinary fundamentals.

Led by Matt Sassman, students practiced:

🔪 Proper chef's knife grip for control and safety
🥕 Chopping
🥒 Slicing
🧅 Dicing
🌿 Chiffonade
✂️ Julienne
🧄 Mincing
🧼 Knife care and maintenance

Then they put those new skills to work creating:

🥩 Beef and broccoli stir-fry with perfect rice
🥗 Shaved Brussels sprouts salad with shallot vinaigrette
🍉 Fruit, melon, and berry salad garnished with fresh mint

From kitchen safety to precision cutting techniques, these young cooks gained valuable skills they can use for years to come.

Our sold-out Jan and Matt are Spätzle-ly Fun class on June 17 combined great food, German-inspired comfort dishes, and the entertaining camaraderie of Jan Reid and Matt Sassman.

Guests enjoyed a front-row seat at the counter as Jan and Matt shared stories, laughs, and plenty of culinary expertise while preparing:

🧀 Cheddar beer cheese spread with pretzel crackers
🥒 Shaved cucumber salad with sweet and tangy sour cream-dill dressing
🍖 Pan-seared pork steaks with onion-mushroom cream gravy
🍝 Homemade spätzle
🍪 "German" chocolate cookies with coconut-pecan filling and topping

Our private Iron Chef Event on June 17 challenged this corporate group to step outside their comfort zones and into the kitchen for an exciting team-building competition with Sheri Doe and Lydia Gwin.

The challenge:

🇮🇹 Team Italy vs. 🌿 Team Mediterranean

Working without recipes, teams were tasked with creating original dishes while being judged on:

From brainstorming menus and dividing responsibilities to plating their final creations, participants put their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to the test—all while having a lot of fun.

Our A Great British Bake Off — A Berry Edition class with Mickey Kitterman on June 17 celebrated the flavors of summer with a lineup of berry-filled desserts worthy of a handshake from Paul Hollywood.

Guests rolled up their sleeves and created:

🍓 Strawberry Victoria sponge
🫐 Blueberry-honey frangipane tart
🥧 Rhubarb-blackberry pie
🍇 Raspberry slump topped with tender biscuits and honeyed raspberries

This energetic group spent the morning cooking alongside Jeff Friesen during a private Youth in the Kitchen event on June 17, building skills, confidence, and plenty of delicious dishes along the way.

The menu featured:

🍝 Fettuccine Alfredo
🍤 Grilled shrimp
🥗 Mixed greens salad with croutons and ranch dressing
🧁 Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting
