Starting isn't the hard part. Neither is finishing. It's the middle, when the pile is bigger, the energy is gone, and you wonder why you even started. That's the part we're here for.

You’re going to pack 47 boxes and somehow still not be able to find the scissors on move-in night. 😭

The first 24 hours in a new space are chaos, unless you already thought ahead.

Save this so you’re not hunting through boxes at midnight.

Research from IKEA found that 58% of people feel their home doesn't fully meet their needs. Most blame themselves. The real issue is they were never given the right tools to fix it.

The Zeigarnik Effect: Why Unfinished Tasks Won't Leave Your Mind

We explore the psychological phenomenon called the Zeigarnik effect, which explains why unfinished tasks and cluttered spaces occupy our thoughts even when we're away from home. We discuss how our brains treat incomplete tasks like open browser tabs, constantly running in the background, and share practical advice on how to close these mental tabs by completing tasks incrementally—one section or decision at a time—rather than waiting for perfection.

If your house feels like it’s always a mess no matter what you do… this is probably why.

I see this all the time with the families I work with. It’s not that you have too much stuff. It’s that clutter builds up in the same spots every single time and nobody ever told you what to actually do with it.

I made this list based on what I actually see when I’m doing pantry organization, kitchen organization, and home resets for clients. Not the perfect version you see online… just real life that actually works.

It’s usually the small stuff that gets out of control. Junk drawers. Random cords. Half-used products. Clothes you don’t even like but still keep. That’s what makes your home feel overwhelming.
You don’t need to do everything at once. Just start somewhere and build from there. That’s how you actually get your home back under control.

Save this list for when you’re ready and share it with someone who’s been meaning to start but keeps putting it off.

Be honest… what are you getting rid of first?
