Cardboard seams like it would be a good idea to lay down for a walkway, however it's not. It's real easy to trap small debris under the cardboard. This can lead to stepping on the cardboard and sliding. Resulting in a large scratch in your new floor. You could always tape all the way around the cardboard, however, you risk leaving tape residue, if the tape isn't removed soon enough. I recommend non slip drop clothes and cleaning under them on a daily basis until work is completed .

Chicago Brick, authentic look of brick from 1871 Great Chicago Fire! I've used this many times on backsplashes, accent walls, fireplaces and flooring. Comes in several tones and colors.
