Update: I am starting the border foundation for the community blanket that our crochet club has been working on for the past year. We take turns each week adding a few rows with leftover yarn. It is beautiful, colorful, warm, a bit chaotic, and wonderfully imperfect in shape. We plan to raffle this gorgeous, collaborative blanket at our booth at Pumpkinfest next month, but tickets will go on sale in the shop as soon as we complete the border. We hope the proceeds will help continue free programs like our crochet club at Wildflowers in the future.
Side note from Julie: I’m working on sharing more of the little things that make Wildflowers such a special place. My posts may be weird and random at times or contain my strange artwork or photography when I don’t have other images ready. This place is as quirky as I am at times, but it is a place where you can be your authentic self too and make things from that place of safety. I named the shop Wildflowers for the Tom Petty song, because I truly believe people need a place where they belong and feel free to be themselves. It’s called a creative wellness studio because I believe creating is an integral part of the human experience at all ages and it is incredibly beneficial to our mental and physical health.
