So...this one took some time and has an interesting past to it. lol

Several years ago, my brother Chris bought me this canvas for my birthday. And when I say "Several Years", I am meaning well over 10 years ago. lol

Anyhow, originally I had this thought of creating like a Zombie Apocalypse type scenario on this because of the length of the canvas. I could see like a rotting city and whatnot. lol I even went as far as having drawn it out in pencil and made much of the canvas filled with this concept.

Well, time went on and I then moved to the house i am in now and this canvas with the pencil drawing just kinda came with me but I never put paint to it. While I worked on others, it simply sat there.

And it sat here for a few more years...lol

Finally it hit me one day...I wasn't painting it because that wasn't truly what was supposed to be on this canvas. I simply wasn't inspired to do it.

So I took it downstairs, repainted the back ground and started completely over. Then I could feel what was coming. The colors, the emotion behind it, the true FEEL that was supposed to go into this painting.

Once I started, it absolutely flowed and I believe THIS is EXACTLY what it was meant to be all along. :)

#47 in my collection, this is called "Heud Elan"

This painting is available currently and the pricing is on my website.

If you or anyone you know are interested in this painting, let me know and we will make it happen.

Thanks everyone!

**NEW PAINTING ALERT**

Today is a good day!

Have been feeling the urge to really dig back in lately and had some time and was able to knock out a new one.

I started this one a few days ago, we went to the State game yesterday so I wasn't able to work on it but today, we had some quiet time around the house and could really put some time into this one.

Take a look at this one and let me know what you think in the comments. This is going back to some of my first paintings where I was doing all abstract.

This is Painting #53 in my collection and it's called "Limitless".

If you or someone you know would be interested in purchasing this painting, I will be putting it up on my website today and the price will be available there. Get in touch with me through my site and we can make it happen.

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

I have always loved this painting.

I definitely took a chance with this one and was trying something different and got a very unexpected (but very welcome) outcome.

It's funny though because this painting has really had a bit of a checkered past.

While most paintings, when someone is interested in it, we discuss the details and it's done. Sold and it's on it's way to it's new home.

With this one...It's been shown in a gallery showing and was almost sold 3 times in the same night to 3 different people. Then on top of that, I've had like 4 other people over, the years, tell me they wanted it, were ready to make the purchase and something would always come up and it just never happened. lol

It's ironic that this keeps happening because honestly, I just love having it on my wall so I'm ok with it. lol Some day, the right buyer will see it and will make it happen, till then, my family and I get to continue to enjoy it. :)

This is #7 in my collection and it's called "Our Beliefs, Our Society".

If you or someone you know would like this painting, it's currently for sale over at my website. Get in touch with me and we will make it happen.

Thanks!

This painting is one of my darker toned ones.

But as I have stated before, I truly believe that it's through our darker times in life that we can reflect on who we are and how we will act / react to specific things, while striving to come out of those moments in a happier, much more fulfilled place.

This painting also has a poem that I wrote years ago (1994 to be exact) written on it (Named "Echoes") and while this is a short little poem, I feel this can truly reflect depth and loneliness.

Echoe's
By Justin Babcock
Date: 1994

Behind the eyes of a child, I hear echoes of a youth once lost.
The seasons have hindered his sense of reality, though the sun tells the truth.

Sorrow has left him to the things around him.
All these hours without a thought of freedom.

Goodbye my love.

~Silence~

This is # 43 in my collection. This is called "Echoes".

Don't forget to go over to justinbabcockart.com where this painting and many more of my other paintings are currently available for sale.

Thank you everyone!

It's difficult to express the love I have for this painting...

When I started her, I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to go as I was experimenting with a style I'd never worked on before. But, as she started to take shape, I knew I was onto something special.

By the time I had finished her, I was pretty much enthralled with the picture and concept completely. I was VERY HAPPY with how she turned out and couldn't wait to share her.

I put the painting online and shortly after I had a gentlemen contact me. He was opening a new restaurant in Minnesota and was like "I MUST HAVE THIS"...haha I get it...and I was happy to work with him on making that happen.

We discussed cost and shipping and "boom", I was out the door to get her to him.

I must admit, it made me sad boxing her up and never seeing her again but I knew she was going where she belonged and that's perfectly ok with me.

I love how the Universe does that sometimes. Just makes things work out just the way they are supposed to. LOVE THAT!

Here she is...

THIS right here!

When I started this painting, it was just going to be my own personal tribute to Heath Ledger as "The Joker" in THE DARK KNIGHT.

It kinda became it's own entity (43 hours later...lol) and is by far one of the coolest one's I have done yet. (In my "O" that is...lol)

This is called "Why So Serious?". #31 in my collection.

I have now added this painting and many more to my website.

Feel free to jump over there and check them all out. (click the link below) Pricing is right there on the page.

Let me know if you or someone you know would be interested in any of them and I will hook you up!

Thanks everyone!!

This popped up on my memories today.

Probably hands down, one of my favorite paintings I've ever had the pleasure of creating and to top it off, I got to do it for a couple of really good friends for their home. Even better! :)

This is called "Temporary Forgiveness".

It was my 37th Painting.
