🎄🐾 HOLIDAY BOARDING & DAYCARE ARE ALREADY BOOKING! 🐾🎄

We get asked this question ALL the time:

“How soon should I book?”

Our answer is always:

👉 As soon as you know you need it! 📅

Holiday dates can fill up quickly, and because we intentionally keep our numbers small, when we're full… we're FULL! ❤️

If you already know you'll be traveling for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, or any other holiday, don't wait until the last minute to get your pup on the calendar.

💜 OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH 💜

October is often associated with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but it is also an important time to shine a light on Domestic Violence Awareness.

This one is especially close to my (the owners) heart. I lost my sister to domestic violence, and I know firsthand that behind the statistics are real people, real families, and lives that can be forever changed.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please know that help is available. You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out, and you don't have to face it alone.

📞 National Domestic Violence Hotline
800-799-SAFE (7233)
Text START to 88788

For those of us here in the Bitterroot Valley, S.A.F.E. is a local resource providing support and advocacy for those experiencing domestic violence.

📞 S.A.F.E. Emergency Hotline: 406-363-4600

And there's something else we want to talk about…

PETS. 🐾

We understand that leaving an unsafe situation can be incredibly complicated when you have animals you love. Worrying about where they'll go, who will care for them, and whether they'll be safe can become another barrier to getting out.

If you're in a situation where your pets are part of what makes leaving difficult, please reach out to us. We will do our best to help however we can, whether that's helping you figure out options, providing a safe place for your pets when we're able, or helping connect you with resources.

You don't have to explain everything.
You don't have to be embarrassed.
You don't have to have a perfect plan.

You deserve safety. Your pets deserve safety. And there are people willing to help. 💜🐾

Please share this post. You never know who might need to see it today.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

🎩🐾 IT'S NATIONAL PET TRICKS DAY! 🐾🎩

Okay, Misfit family… show us what your pets can do! 😂

Does your dog know 15 tricks but conveniently forgets every single one when you pull out your phone?

Is their greatest trick making treats disappear? 👀

Or maybe they've mastered the highly advanced skill of pretending they can't hear you when it's time to come inside. 🤣

📸 Drop a picture or video in the comments and show us your pet's best trick!

And since we're celebrating tricks today, we've got some exciting news…

🎓🐶 TRICK DOG CLASS IS COMING BACK! 🐶🎓

Our next Trick Dog class starts Sunday, October 18th at 4:00 PM and runs for 4 weeks!

This class isn't just about teaching your dog a bunch of fun tricks. It's about having fun together, building confidence, and strengthening the relationship between you and your dog. ❤️

Learning something new together can be a great way to help your dog think, try new things, and discover just how much they can accomplish!

🏆 And if you're interested in earning AKC Trick Dog titles, this class can help you work toward those goals, too!

AKC registration is NOT required to participate in the class. If you want to earn an official AKC title, your dog will need to be registered with AKC for the title process.

📅 Starts: Sunday, October 18
⏰ Time: 4:00 PM
📚 Length: 4 weeks
💰 Cost: $125

Whether you're looking for a fun activity to do with your dog, want to build their confidence, or have your sights set on an AKC title, come have some fun with us! 🐾❤️

Interested in joining? Send us a message, call/text, or stop by the retreat to get signed up!

☕🫎 MAKE THE MOOSE YOUR MIDWEEK STOP! 🫎☕

Looking for a reason to swing by Wednesday–Friday? We’ve got one! 😉

The Meandering Moose is set up right next to our driveway, just off Hwy 93, and they’re serving up some seriously good food and drinks from 7a-3p!

☕ Fresh coffee & other drinks
🍳 REAL, fresh-made breakfast
🥪 REAL, fresh-made lunch
😊 Service with a smile
❤️ Good old-fashioned home cooking!

And when we say REAL food, we mean it. This isn't food that's been sitting around waiting to be nuked in a microwave. 🙅‍♀️

This is fresh-made, real home cooking — and you don't even have to eat it in your car! 😉

🌲 Grab a picnic table, settle in, and enjoy your meal surrounded by the tall trees and peaceful little wooded setting. It's a pretty nice place to slow down, enjoy your coffee, and take a few minutes for yourself. ☕🌲

So whether you're grabbing breakfast on your way to work, picking up lunch, meeting a friend, or just need a really good cup of coffee…

🐾❤️ HAPPY WORLD PET DAY! ❤️🐾

Here at Montana’s Misfits, we have a pretty simple philosophy:

Pets aren’t “just pets.” They’re family. 🥰

They make us laugh.
They keep us company.
They make us get out of bed when we’d rather stay there. 😂
They listen to our problems without judging us.
And somehow, they manage to take up WAY more space in our hearts than they do on the couch. ❤️

So today, we want to see your family members!

📸 Drop a picture of your pet in the comments and tell us their name. Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, pocket pets… all the Misfits are welcome! 🐶🐱🐍🦜🐰

And if you’re looking for a place where your pets are treated like family while you’re away, come see what we're all about:

🐾🧔 HAPPY NATIONAL SCHNAUZER DAY! 🧔🐾

Calling all the schnauzers, schnauzer mixes, and honorary schnauzers! 😂

Today we celebrate the dogs with the beards, eyebrows, BIG personalities, and just a little bit of attitude. 😉

Whether your schnauzer is a distinguished gentleman, a sassy little diva, a professional couch potato, or the CEO of Getting Into Trouble™…

WE WANT TO SEE THEM! 📸🐶

Drop a picture of your schnauzer (or schnauzer mix) in the comments and tell us their name! 👇❤️

And if you’re looking for boarding, daycare, training, or just want to see what we’re all about, come meet the Misfits!

08/31/2026

🐾 Well... we've been a little busy around here! 😂

Sometimes the days get so full of wagging tails, wet noses, zoomies, cuddles, cleaning, and everything in between that social media gets pushed to the bottom of the list. 😅

So instead of a big update today, here's a little "what we've been up to lately" photo dump! 📸🐶🐾

We've had plenty of happy faces, goofy moments, and dogs just doing what dogs do best—and we're not complaining one bit. 💙

Now we want to hear from YOU!

👇 What's been keeping YOU busy lately?
Work? Kids? Summer adventures? Pets? Just trying to survive the week? 😂

Drop a comment and tell us what's been happening in your world!

And if your camera roll looks anything like ours... feel free to throw a pet picture in the comments, too. We certainly won't complain. 🐕🐈🐍🐔💙

Mornings are about to get even better!

As you drop off your pups in the morning you won't have to detour to get a bite to eat or a nice drink. The Meandering Moose will be out right by our sign just off 93!
