Tucked between stone walls, climbing roses, and perfectly imperfect tulip pots, England reminded me that the most beautiful homes start before you walk through the front door. I wanted to share some of the landscapes, gardens, and outdoor details that inspired me throughout the trip. ’s gardens were a particular favorite. The details all make their way back into my work in Maryland, through color palettes and even how we frame a view from your kitchen sink to your backyard.

With summer right around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to highlight the beautiful exterior of our Maxmore Creek project. For this charming Eastern Shore home, we mixed classic architecture with fresh modern touches and added plenty of windows to soak in all the natural light and gorgeous views of its surroundings.

Sharing a few photos I took of fabrics, wallpapers, and other finishes from my recent trip to England with . We the Lewis & Wood Mill, Sarah Vanrenen’s beautiful home, and even a historic paper house that creates fine papers for brands like Chanel and Rose Uniacke. Back home, these details become real: a printed linen inside a mudroom cabinet, a wallpaper behind open shelving, or a subtly patterned runner in the back hall.

Back home in Maryland and still mentally wandering the English countryside... From charming home and newest collection, to Lady Arabella’s gardens, the layered rooms at Hoker Hall, and the joyful pattern play in home, every space was just stunning. Floral wallpapers, hutches with collected china that tells a story, family herilooms, painted doors, and rich textiles everywhere you turn!! Trips like this always remind me that the most memorable homes are the ones that feel utterly personal, in the best way. Now my designer brain is buzzing with ideas for how to translate all of this into your homes...
