👋 Hi friends! I thought it was time to officially introduce myself and share a little more about the person behind Red’s Essential Boutique. ❤️
My name is Megan, and I’m the owner, maker, designer, idea-chaser, and occasional “why did I think this would be a quick project?” person behind Red’s Essential Boutique LLC. 😂
Red’s Essential Boutique has changed and evolved quite a bit over the years, but one thing has stayed the same — it has always been my creative outlet and a place where I can take an idea and turn it into something meaningful.
✨ My main focus right now is laser engraving, and honestly, it has become one of my favorite things to do. I started laser engraving in early 2020, just before lockdown. I bought my first laser thinking it would be a fun hobby.
Apparently, I don’t know how to keep hobbies small. 😂
Little by little, that hobby turned into a side business, and I started making personalized gifts, keepsakes, home décor, and custom pieces for friends, family, and customers.
That first laser stuck with me for almost six years until a small fire earlier this year unfortunately destroyed it. As sad as I was to lose it, it ended up pushing me into the next chapter of my business.
In July, I purchased a much larger and more powerful laser, which has opened up a whole new world of possibilities. I’m now able to work with larger projects, different materials, and products I couldn’t create before.
And trust me… I have been having WAY too much fun figuring out everything this machine can do. 😂
Then life decided I apparently didn’t have enough change happening.
In August, I was unexpectedly laid off from my full-time job.
While that was definitely scary and not part of my plan, it also gave me some unexpected time to learn my new laser, experiment with new products, attend more vendor events, and really pour some energy into Red’s Essential Boutique.
Outside of my small business, I have worked in the mental health field for more than 14 years. I’m a Clinical Mental Health Clinician with a master’s degree, and mental health work has been an incredibly important and rewarding part of my life.
It can also be stressful and emotionally exhausting.
Crafting became part of my own self-care.
Some people do yoga.
Some meditate.
Apparently, I buy power tools and lasers. 😂🤷♀️
Thankfully, another exciting chapter is beginning too! I was fortunate enough to secure a new position with Optum as a Mental Health Clinical Wellbeing Specialist, working remotely.
So Red’s Essential Boutique will continue to be my creative outlet and side business while I continue doing the mental health work that I love.
❤️ Family is also a huge part of who I am.
I’m single and don’t have children of my own, but my niece and two nephews are absolutely my world. Being their aunt is one of my favorite roles.
My family is also a HUGE help with this business. They help with vendor events, loading and unloading, setup, ideas, projects, and all the random behind-the-scenes things people don’t always see.
My brother and I even team up sometimes to create and sell things together, so you may occasionally see some of his creations mixed in here too.
So… what exactly do I make?
A little bit of everything. 😂

🎁 Personalized gifts and keepsakes
…and whatever else I decide my laser needs to attempt next!
But my favorite projects are often the custom ones.
I love when someone messages me and says:
“Okay… I have an idea.”
Or…
“I don’t know exactly what I want, but can you make something like this?”
Those are usually the projects that turn into something really special.
Whether it’s funny, sentimental, practical, completely random, or a gift for someone who is impossible to shop for — I love helping bring those ideas to life.
Red’s Essential Boutique may be a small business, but every order means something to me.
