Good morning!! ☀️ So glad you can tune in to Coffee & Grace with Jennifer! I pray this devotional encourages you and points you closer to Jesus.

A few days ago I had this light bulb moment. To set the scene: I was having a rough morning already to begin with. The kids were crabby. I felt like I was running on empty, because I struggled to sleep the night before. The house was a wreck. I had about 5 thousand loads of laundry to do. Every task seemed to grow bigger and bigger in my head. I was trying to please everyone and fulfill everyone’s needs, that it came to a point where I just knew, if I kept on this way I would explode in a million emotions.

I collapsed on the couch already feeling defeated and it was only 10am. And that’s when it hit me. My kids ran back and forth from the dinning room to the living room and usually I’m quick to say “stop running,” but today I just watched. I paused. I cringed when my daughter fell, but watched my son quickly help her up. I watched her eyes brighten up as if someone truly came to her rescue.

From where I was sitting, the pile of dishes looked like a taunting mountain, but I knew I needed to sit and watch and listen. It was perfectly peaceful. Don’t get me wrong. There was screaming and yelling and some crying but my mind was not running miles. I was not thinking about the next thing I needed to do. I was still. It was a moment of clarity. It was peace.

I realized then, that’s what Jesus wants from us; a moment of clarity where it’s just you and Him. Because truthfully, our minds are always bouncing from one thing to the next. We don’t take a moment to pause and just thank God. Work gets priority, the kids get priority, our spouse gets priority and we leave God at the very bottom of the list and mark Him as tomorrow’s task.

How can you prioritize Jesus this week? Is there something you can eliminate in order to put Jesus first. Maybe it’s social media or the tv? Maybe it’s simple things that seem to take your focus. God desires to be a priority in your life and not just another task that needs to get done.

The Bible says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” - Mathew 6:33. When we do this we are showing that we truly love Him. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”- Matthew 22:37

Jesus becomes the first thing on our minds and that’s exactly where He wants to be!

Prayer: Thank You God for Your guidance and instructions. Thank You for reminding us to seek You first. We fail at times but I ask that You would help us get back up. Thank You for being so good to us. I pray that everyone who was able to read this devotional desires to grow closer to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Thank you for joining me today!! Reach out to someone and spread the good news this week. See you next Monday for another Coffee & Grace with Jennifer!

Good morning everyone!
Welcome to Coffee & Grace with Jennifer.
Grab your coffee or tea and let’s get into today’s devotional. ☕️

Sometimes we have in our minds the idea that we are alone. We often think we are going through issues and struggles alone and no one else is facing them. This idea brings us to a place of hopelessness. This is not what God wanted us to believe.

Deuteronomy 31:8 says “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

God’s desire is that we trust Him with our life. Not just a small portion of it but all of it. This includes the hard moments. We don’t just go to God in the good. In fact, most people don’t go to God when life is good. They run to Him when life is hard. God wants us to go to Him all of the time.

He goes before us. He establishes our path. He sees ahead. He is with us and His promise is to never leave us.

Will there be struggles? Yes.
Will there be hard times? Yes.

He didn’t say He would take hem away. He said He will be with us and never leave us.

Today as you start this week, remember that whatever you face or whatever is coming, God will not leave you stranded in the mess. Trust in Him. Run to Him. Do not be afraid because He goes before you.

Prayer: Lord thank You for helping us grow closer to You. You are faithful in Your word and faithful in what You say. You don’t lie or take back what You say. Thank You that You will never leave us nor forsake us. You truly are a good father! Help us grow near to you! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Thank you for joining me today for Coffee & Grace with Jennifer. I’ll see you next Monday for our weekly devotional!
