I took a week off from my bigger orders to make the Zip-N-Grip for a repeat customer. She wanted this item using the multicolor zipper. Finished size 5.25”H x 9.25”W x 4.75 D when closed. Then… open to a unique spacious design!

This was my relax and catch up weekend. Husband enjoyed ATV, while I oiled my sewing machines and sharpened my scissors.✂️..green pepper casserole for the family and recommended b**r by my middle son, my youngest son said skip that and head to dessert.. sneak peek at another project for my firefighter community. Strap for the bag came from their bibs!

This past week, I tried 3 wallet patterns, but only still recommend the Architect wallet (pictured as the Packer design). My sister Joan, asked for one a bit smaller, with an expandable coin compartment. Here is how it turned out…
Structurally and aesthetically it turned out to my standards, however, it is considered a raw edge project. So that means the end of the vinyl or material is left unfinished. I felt it needed a sealant so I proceeded with a recommended product. It did the job, but you can definitely tell it was my first one. This Lucy wallet has potential, but I’ll revisit this wallet adventure in the future.

My sister wants me to create a wallet smaller than my good seller..the Architect wallet. It must have an expandable coin slot. I have creative freedom on color/pattern, but year round usage, conservative. I have the patterns for the Barbie, Lucy, and the Slip & Zip..I never created any of these for various reasons (and want to keep my price point low). Which one would you pick…simple/slim Barbie, everything but smaller Lucy, or functional/practical Slip & Zip?
She wants me to try Lucy but try to alter it for expandable coin zip. I’ll post results, either way on success or not so great. She will get my prototype of modified Lucy wallet.

I call these my Peggy pouches. Simple quilted zip pouch measuring 10 1/2 inches long at the zipper, with inside zipper pocket. Functional enough to store anything. This order was a baby neutral, gender request, and I surprised her with a zip and grip boxed pouch made out of cotton. All these bags would look great in vinyl too.

Well here it is! The Gillette fire department reached out to me last summer to create a handful of items. I brainstormed patterns where their large pockets could fit the bag. The bag lining is even made from the inside of their jackets. They were so excited that they let me know that there will be plenty more orders!

Thank you for everyone 💕 who reposted or stopped by Sunday at the craft sale to make it a success! My Pelican tote was my best bag seller. (Funny… fitting name for all this wet weather!) I’ll try posting every 4-5 weeks, but I am continuing my side adventure of turning some retired firefighter turnout gear into bags. Then, soon, I’ll be looking into ordering vinyl for fall and winter. Reach out if you still need a spring/summer bag.
