Is beautiful fabric a love language? If it is, I’m fairly certain that beautiful fabric is MY love language! I’m here staring at bolts and bolts and bolts of fabric which is pushing my brain into the most wonderful creative spiral! 😊 I just want to make so many things! I’m pondering where Farmer’s Daughter Stitches is going and I don’t have all the answers, but I keep dreaming of a brick and mortar quilt shop. Location is a question mark and fear of failure is very real! I don’t want to jump into the brick and mortar world until I’m at a place in life where I can give a little more of my heart and soul to the shop. For now, my 9-5 is cleaning teeth as I’m a full time dental hygienist. 🦷 Balancing my work with my quilting adventures while having two babies has brought me into the world of “fulfilling orders for 45 minutes after the kids are asleep” instead of creating for my own joy! That’s the struggle. Quilting is incredibly therapeutic and good for the soul! Putting together fabric bundles brings me a tremendous amount of joy and I send each bundle out hoping that it’s received as “happy mail” that makes someone’s day! But, it’s been way too long since I made something with a bundle that I love! I wish I could make a quilt with every bundle I create, but finding time with my sewing machine is the real challenge. I’m thinking about making quilted pot holders, or pillows, or book covers only for the quick make, because that’s what I have time for. But quilts are what I really love; I just need to find at least 10-15 minutes a day for my own creative sake. My heart dances when other creatives share what they made with a bundle I created! I so yearn for encouraging others to quilt and I dream of helping others choose fabric. I especially love helping beginner quilters, but I’m here feeling like I’m not helping. I think more joy would come from the process if I was actually in a quilt shop WITH people instead of by myself with hundreds of bolts of fabric. Just sharing some thoughts out loud as my brain is spinning in circles. Happy Tuesday! Happy Quilting! Have a great day! Here are some bundles that are in my shop!
