Let’s give a big She Shed welcome to my next guest… Lily snail. 🐌 came in on a spring bloom. She was calm, cool and collected during sketch class, then she was off to the races.

Today was all about wood working. Specifically creating an Owl house for our friends. I heard the crows harassing them this morning. Hopefully this will make it better.

The best part… the reveal ✨

Gel plate prints turned collage, built one layer at a time.
Nothing planned, just following the marks and seeing where they take me.

Collage Makers Summit

04/06/2026

Wait… why have I NOT been collaging directly on the gel plate sooner?!

After watching Mark Wills at the Gel Printers Summit (hosted by Drew Steinbrecher), I finally tried it—and now I’m hooked.

This was my first attempt at collage right on the plate, and it opened up a whole new way of working with my prints.

I’ve already created a larger piece (coming soon), and learned a few tricks that will make the next one smoother.

But honestly?
The fun is in the experimenting… and getting better each time you show up.

Follow along to see where this goes next.

A day in the shed 🤍

Just me, moving from one project to the next—letting the day unfold as it wants to.

A little watercolor here, watching it wander across the page…
a layer of gesso there, building texture…
pulling prints on the gel plate and seeing what surprises show up…
then bits of collage finding their way into it all.

Nothing too planned. Just following what feels right and staying in the process.

This is what a full day of making looks like for me—quiet, a little messy, and full of small moments that turn into something more.
