A little piece of Superior history! Every once in a while, I come across something that isn’t just an antique. It’s a little piece of the story of Superior, Arizona. This vintage souvenir plate shows the Magma Copper Smelter. This is such an important part of Superior’s history & the lives of the people who worked & lived here. The large smokestack became one of Superior’s most recognizable landmarks.
As someone who owns an Antique store right here in Superior, I absolutely love finding pieces like this. They aren’t just old things sitting on a shelf. They help tell our town’s story & hold the memories of the people & places that came before us.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on social media. So I’m here now. Here with some explaining I feel I owe to so many of you….I’m not making excuses, I’m giving a sincere apology along with sincere appreciation.
Picket Post Antiques has been my everything for the last 9 years. I’ve pushed myself, fought with myself, cried many tears & have smiled just as much. I’ve had a heart condition for the last 4 years. I was doing great. Until I wasn’t. I thought I could push through it. Ignore it. It’s all in my head. I’ll close the store for the weekend, rest & then I’ll be better. But I WILL NOT give up on my dream that I’ve turned into reality & made happen! Without me there would be no Picket Post Antiques. I know I should bring in help. But if you know me. That ain’t happening. Heck, I surely wouldn’t want to work for me! I should probably make a post stating I’m not gonna be open. But I just couldn’t bring myself to admit there is something wrong. Well it’s now caught up to me. And these last few years I surely wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my husband!
I am so very sorry for all the frustration you all have with me all the while not giving up on me. Not open when I should be. Not on time when I should be. So many of you keep showing up & many have given up. I just want you to know I see you. And I sincerely appreciate the ones who keep on stopping by. And the ones who don’t…I sincerely understand.
I took this photo at 2am this morning. Sent it to my husband & said…..Who am I kidding? I can’t imagine my life without my little antique store. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with this place lately. As I sat in my jeep tonight crying I got mad at myself for having such thoughts. I’m not a quitter & I don’t give up so easily. I know what I gotta do & I’m gonna do it!
Come November I will most likely be having a heart procedure done. In the meantime I’m gonna do my best to show up & be the best I can be.
