Well friends… yesterday we started with a plain hat and a little imagination, and look where this journey is taking us! 😍

Today we’re adding more personality, more details, and a whole lot more charm as we continue transforming this fun cowgirl hat into a one-of-a-kind wearable piece of art!

Featuring:
🌻 Sunflower stenciling inspired by my home state of Kansas
🎨 Painted details and shading
🤠 Rustic southwestern vibes
🪶 Vintage-inspired embellishments
✨ A little creativity, a little imagination, and probably a little “let’s see what happens!” along the way

One of my favorite things about creating is that I rarely know exactly where a project will end up. I simply start with an idea and let the piece tell me what it wants to become. This hat is definitely doing a lot of talking! 😂

A year ago, my sweet friend Nature Price Jackson taught a hat-making class, and let’s just say… we spent a little too much time visiting and not quite enough time creating! 😆

So today we’re dusting off this lonely hat and finally giving it the glow-up it deserves!

🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 I think I may have a theme… 💙🤍❤️🇺🇸

Every now and then someone asks me, “What’s your favorite thing to create?”

Well… if you’ve followed me for any length of time, you probably already know the answer. 😜

Stars. Stripes. Vintage Americana. Patriotic reds, whites, and blues. Flag-inspired furniture. Front porch décor. Summer flowers. Freedom.

Over the years I’ve painted chairs, signs, stars, porch pieces, floral arrangements, hats, baskets, and just about anything else that would sit still long enough to get a coat of paint! 🎨✨

There’s just something about patriotic décor that makes me smile. Maybe it reminds me of small-town America, summer parades, front porches, family gatherings, and all the blessings we sometimes take for granted.

As I was pulling together some photos from projects I’ve created through the years, I realized my patriotic collection has grown quite a bit. ❤️🤍💙

If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes before a live, let me just say… it’s rarely as simple as “push a button and go!” 😅

After a morning spent wrestling with technology, Cricut connections, and stubborn stencils, we’re finally ready to create! And honestly, that’s part of the creative journey too. Sometimes the project teaches patience before it teaches technique. 💛

Today I’ll be transforming this charming garden sign and adding the final stenciled sayings inspired by the wisdom we find in nature:

🐝 Don’t Let Things Bug You
🌱 Always Keep Growing
