It's amazing what a difference a week makes. Last week's bouquet featured deep burgundy while this first week in October brought the brightest hints of fall. The September bride requested no yellow or orange and the October bride requested no sunflowers. Otherwise, they were happy to have whatever was growing at Hidden River Events the weekend of their wedding. We are happy to customize when needed and are grateful that the garden produces so much beauty when people would rather not have to choose. Nature provides.

Rain did not deter Abby & Zak from having their ceremony outside today. They decided to embrace the weather, and their family and friends surrounded them with good-spirited love while the rain blessed their union. The flowers suggest the approaching fall, adorning the tables, the end of the aisles, as well as the exquisite bouquet carried by Abby. All flowers except for roses were grown here on the farm and their elegant design is once again by Brigitte, our florist. Thanks to Abby and Zak for entrusting us with their love, to Kristin for growing the flowers, and to Brigitte for her floral design skills.

I had fun making this bouquet for a nice family in Swannanoa, yesterday. It feels good to have the flower gardens back in full after the flood.
