And the frogs, can’t forget the frogs!
On hot summer nights before air conditioners were everywhere, families found their own way to stay cool.
They slept on the screened porch.
The night air drifted through the screens. The sound of crickets filled the darkness. Somewhere far away, thunder rolled across the sky.
A small fan might hum quietly beside the bed. A soft lamp might glow on the table.
But the real comfort came from the night itself.
The smell of summer grass.
The whisper of the wind.
The peaceful rhythm of nature outside.
Lying there under a thin sheet, watching the lightning flicker far in the distance, it felt like the whole world had slowed down.
Sleep came easily.
And mornings arrived with the sound of birds and the first light of the sun.
Those nights were simple.
But they were the kind of memories that stay with you for a lifetime.
