Small shop & boutique owners. Hang in there. I hear of the struggles of the small business owners all too often, from all over the U.S. I understand & I am certainly not immune to those challenges. It can be Brutal! Here is what I shared with the owner of a darling store in a neighboring town. Maple Market-Upcycled Furniture & Home Decor.
I may get responses of my limited days of being open. When I first opened I was open Monday to 1/2 day on Saturday. I learned by sacrificing long days of me & my time. No matter how much you are open, there will always be people that want more. Good example: "I wish you were open evenings." Or, "why don't you hire help & be open more." Everything comes at a cost. Those options are not viable. And as for volunteers? Tried that, aside from Family, the workers didn't value the essence of the shop. Anyhow, this is a bit of a vent. This is my personal perspective from the Life of a Small Town Shop owner.
A shop owner that is extremely grateful for each person that has helped to support Lilies & Lovelies for 17 years.

Love owning a business in small a town! While weeding the curb, Hubby drove by & tossed $ out at me! And my chiropractor paused curbside & had his wife tell me to bend at my knees! Lol! Love it!!
