Apologies for the lack of posting, we’ve been busy this year 🌱

While I did plenty of woodworking this year, most of it was for my son. I wanted to welcome him into the world with pieces he could use for the rest of his life.

As the year ends, I will be closing orders for the time being while I focus on our growing family and enjoying the creative side of woodworking. I will be occasionally sharing pieces I make for fun. For those who have stuck around, thank you!

2024 was quite the year! It was filled with so many unique projects and many new and exciting opportunities that continue to develop into 2025. I am so thankful to all of you who have supported the business, especially since I took a step back from social media this past year. The plan is to be more active this year and to show more of my process and an inside look into the shop. Stick around if that is something you think you'll find interesting! Here's to a happy, healthy, and exciting 2025 for us all!

Happy Holidays everyone! We have been hard at work in MonTrees Woodshop with plenty of new and exciting projects in the works. We are running a sale now through Monday with 15% off the entire site (discount will be added in your cart). Some items, such as our cutting boards, are already on sale so use that 15% for an extra discount!

We have also added apparel to the storefront! All logos are a high quality stitch and I can confirm all very comfy! All purchases of apparel directly support the business.

Looking for a sign? Here's one!

This was a fun side project I made for a couple of friends last month. They recently moved into a new home last year and have created a beautiful home library. It was only fitting for them to have a sign to fit the ambience of the space!

Getting ready for Mother's Day by launching a new product! This bookmatched charcuterie board is larger than our other offerings, giving more space for more cheese and meats! Pair it with our cheese slicer and wine stand for the full set!

It's cold in Toledo! Unfortunately, my shop is not heated so I've only been doing little things here and there over the last week to keep projects moving along. With that said, please enjoy this picture of Iroh, our number one furniture model!

One year ago today I was on the upper deck of a cruise ship with my friends Ryan Chernick and Natalie Chernick and my wife Tori Montry. We were all talking about our New Years Resolutions shortly before the clock struck midnight. I set a goal for myself to officially launch my business and to reach a specific sales goal. I am happy to say, with the support of my family and friends, I was able to exceed my original goals, and for that I can't thank you all enough.

Part of our mission is sustainability. Thanks to all of our sales we were able to plant over 200 trees this year! I am super proud of this and hope to plant even more next year!

Speaking of next year, we will be continuing our business and adding more options to the store. We will be introducing new collections in the next week including furniture and knives. Other collections will follow early Spring! I am planning on starting up my TikTok to track my journey and to promote the business, be sure to give us a follow . We will also be offering new charcuterie and cutting board designs to increase our appeal to more people!

Again, I can't thank you all enough, from those who have purchased something, to those who have engaged with my posts, to those who have simply supported from afar, I appreciate each and every one of you. I hope you all have a healthy and safe New Year and I hope you all reach your goals. Thank you, and Happy New Year!

The last project of the year! Three custom knives, the two outer knives are in walnut, while the middle was a new wood species for me, eucalyptus! Knives will be added to the storefront starting next week along with a new furniture collection.

2023 was a great first official year in business. Stay tuned tomorrow as we recap our first year and give more of a look at what's to come in 2024!

One of our final projects this year was this father and son cribbage board set! These boards include just about 1,000 hand drilled holes for the cribbage board pegs, a custom name engraving along the side, and internal storage for playing cards and the pegs. Each board shares the same wood species, walnut and cherry, but they feature and accent the opposite of each other to create the perfect pair!

Thank you to Brady Lewis for reaching out and commissioning this unique project! It was a very fun and rewarding build.

We've got one more project post this year, followed by some updates to the shop. Happy holidays to everyone, thank you for a great year so far!

This was our biggest project this year and MonTrees first official furniture delivery! I redesigned my dining table from last year to bring you our first piece of custom furniture, available for others in 2024: The Belview. The dining table comfortably sits 6 and can be converted into a board game, puzzle, Lego, etc. surface. This piece was made out of walnut and stained with a Rubio charcoal finish.

I want to say thank you to Valerie Bandel and Kyle Hixenbaugh for their trust in me to bring them a dining table that they will last them as long as they like! Also, shout out to their pets for making an appearance in the photos! They definitely approved of the table :) We have a few more smaller builds coming this year, stay tuned as the next couple weeks will be busy!
