Where it all began 🤎

Our story with began more than 20 years ago, in one of their workshops in the heart of Indonesia. In a village tucked deep in the forest, the air was warm and earthy, filled with the rich scent of seasoned wood, and their carpenters shaped every piece by hand with patience and care. Nicole fell in love with their work that day, and has never looked back.

Since then, Ethnicraft has grown far beyond those workshop walls and shared their craft with homes all over the world, but that same spirit lives in every piece. We love their unrivaled commitment and talent for connecting great design with the intelligence of the hand. It speaks to our heads and our hearts as designers.

Why we love 🤎

We’ve always felt a kinship with their story. Nicole’s own design journey began with backpacking and sourcing trips through villages and back-alley markets in Southeast Asia and Africa. In the same way, Four Hands’ curiosity takes their design eye to the far corners of the world, always searching for that special element or influence every piece needs.

We love mixing and matching their designs with those of other makers, sometimes in the most unexpected ways, so no two rooms are ever the same. The result always feels curated, layered and full of soul.

Nearly a decade ago, we both made the leap to the US in parallel. You began building your story here, and we began building ours. It's been a joy to grow side by side, with the same love of timeless design and craftsmanship made to last for generations.

Here's to 30 years of craft, our shared American chapter and many more birthdays to come 🥂

What a milestone to celebrate at High Point Market this season. We’ve loved your work for a long time, and your collections are often one of our favorite pieces of the puzzle when we design for our clients.

It’s a special year for us too, as Sage Interiors celebrates our 10th year here in the US. We’re so grateful for our partnership with you and can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings for us both.

Our client fell in love with one of Suncadia's original homes: strong, timeless bones and a whole lot of soul.

The brief? Pacific Northwest modern organic, plus room for nine more guests. Picture a game of Tetris where every block is a bed or a bathroom. Game on. 🧩

New floors, a custom kitchen, statement lighting, two extra bathrooms, two extra bedrooms and a bunk room for all the kids, styled top to toe and built for hospitality.

Swipe for the soaking tub with golf course views (trees for us, a dream come true for the golfers ⛳) and the gondola bunk room, our favorite room yet. 🚡

Meet Nigel 👋. Nicole may be the creative force behind Sage Interiors, but anyone who’s sat down with her husband Nigel, knows he’s the one who really listens. And his enthusiasm? Totally contagious.

This time last year at High Point, we sat down with and Nigel shared an idea that came straight from our clients: what if the iconic N701 modular sofa came with arms, seemless right?

Ethnicraft listened. ✨ And here it is, the sofa we fondly call the “Nigel 007,” now proudly taking centre stage in our Gallery. Thank you, Ethnicraft, for hearing us out. Have a fantastic High Point Market! 🙌

Made to measure, part one. 🧵

Before the season kicked off, spent an off-day in our Tacoma gallery designing his custom sectional — every fabric, every inch, built around a 6'5" frame that spends Sundays getting hit for a living. Recovery is the other half of performance, and his is being hand-built in the USA right now.

Caught in the act 🎃 Nigel snapped me doing my morning routine: nudging a pumpkin a fraction of an inch. Is it OCD? Maybe. But detail matters, and we carry that, lightly, into everything we design.
