⚡ New meter, upgraded distribution, and power where it’s needed!

Brayer Electric LLC installed a new meter on a pedestal with power distribution to supply an RV and an electric gate. 🔌🚐

The original meter also had an outlet illegally tapped into it—a shortcut that created a safety concern. We corrected that connection as part of the upgrade, giving the homeowner a clean, properly wired setup.

From RV hookups to service upgrades, we take pride in quality work and taking care of our customers.

EV charging—with a backup plan!

Brayer Electric installed a 48-amp EV charger fed from the main panel for everyday charging, plus a 120-volt outlet fed from the battery backup panel for slower charging during a power outage. This project was challenging getting both circuits from different panels in the same conduit, but we don't mind a little extra work for a finish we're proud of!

This home also has solar and battery storage, bringing renewable energy and backup power together! Outage charging uses a compatible portable charger and depends on available battery capacity and household power needs.

For this installation, we ran EMT metal conduit instead of PVC for a clean, durable, professional finish. 💪

⚠️We've been seeing this way too much! A homeowner paid a contractor to install a subpanel. When Brayer Electric inspected the work, we found several code violations that created electrical hazards.

See those wires going up? They are going into the wall with no conduit. Those wires are THHN and are required to be installed in a conduit. Not to mention several other code violations we found and corrected to make sure everything was safe and up to code. This homeowner unfortanutely ended up paying for this sub panel twice.

A general contractor is not qualified to do electrical work in Washington state. A general contractor can coordinate the job and subcontract the electrical work to a licensed electrical contractor. The electrical work itself must be performed by properly certified people, and a subpanel installation requires an electrical permit and inspection.

Before hiring someone for electrical work, ask for their electrical contractor license number, confirm who will pull the permit, and verify their bond and insurance. A general contractor’s registration alone is not an electrical license.

If you’re planning electrical work or have concerns about work already done, contact Brayer Electric LLC. We’re happy to help you get it done safely. ⚡

Does your household have two EV's? Did you know you can put two tesla chargers on one circuit?

We installed two Tesla Wall Connectors that share a 60 amp circuit. This can be very beneficial to households with two EV's that are limited by panel space or the electrical load of your home. When one vehicle is plugged in, it can use the available charging power. When both are charging, the Wall Connectors automatically divide that power between them. 🔋🔋

It’s a convenient setup for a two EV household, with both cars ready to plug in when you get home.

Thinking about adding a second charger? Message Brayer Electric LLC to talk through the options for your home!

Keep Your RV Ready to Roll!

Brayer Electric recently installed a dedicated RV outlet so this homeowner can safely keep their RV plugged in while it’s parked at home.

Having a proper RV hookup at home makes a big difference when your RV isn’t being used. It can help keep your batteries charged, run the refrigerator or other equipment when needed, allow you to keep a small heater plugged in for condensation during the off season, and make it easier to prep your RV before your next trip—without relying on extension cords or adapters. We installed a RV outlet panel with an additional 120 outlet, so the homeowner has usable power in that portion of their property.

Whether you need a 30-amp or 50-amp RV outlet, Brayer Electric can install a dedicated circuit designed for your setup.

Park it. Plug it in. Keep it ready for the next adventure.

⚡ Just Because It’s Not an Old House Doesn’t Mean Things Can’t Fail!

Brayer Electric recently went out to troubleshoot an outlet that stopped working in a home built in 2008.

💡 Did you know? Outlets, switches, and breakers can have a life expectancy of around 20–25 years. That means homes built in the early 2000s are starting to reach an age where electrical components may begin showing signs of wear or failure.

If you have outlets that quit working, switches acting up, or breakers giving you trouble, it may be time to have them checked.
We recommend having your outlets, switches, and breakers replaced every 25 years. It will save you a lot of headaches and service calls in the future, and it helps keep your home safe.

Brayer Electric recently found a microwave plugged into an outlet that had been wired to NM-B cable and shoved inside the wall behind the microwave.

To make matters worse, the microwave was tied into a lighting circuit. Every time the microwave turned on, the lights would noticeably dim—a clear sign that something wasn’t right.

Brayer Electric fixed it the right way: We ran a new dedicated circuit for the microwave, eliminating the load from the lighting circuit and leaving the customer with a safer, properly wired setup.

Electrical shortcuts might work for a while, but that doesn’t make them safe.

Quality work. No shortcuts. Done right.

👋 Hey everyone, I’m Doug Brayer! ⚡

I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and the family behind Brayer Electric LLC.

I’m the electrician you’ll see out in the field, and my wife, Charlynn Brayer, handles the admin side of the business and keeps everything running behind the scenes.

We live right here in Roy, Washington, where we’re raising our two kids, Abby and Kane, along with our crew of 2 dogs and 4 cats! 🐶🐱

⚡ Brayer Electric is a small, family-owned residential electrical company. We handle everything from troubleshooting and repairs to remodels, lighting, panel and service upgrades, EV chargers, generator hookups, and more.

One of the reasons I’m proud to be a small business is that I’m not showing up to your home with a sales quota. With some of the bigger companies, the focus can sometimes be on selling upgrades or services you may not actually need. That’s not how I want to do business.

When I come to your home, my goal is to find the problem, explain your options, and give you an honest recommendation. If something doesn’t need to be replaced, I’m going to tell you. If there’s a simpler and more affordable way to safely get the job done, we’ll talk about it.

Our name is on every job, and our reputation in the community matters to us. We want our customers to feel comfortable calling us again—and confident recommending us to their friends and family.

If you’re looking for a local electrician who values quality work, honest pricing, and relationships over sales, give Brayer Electric a call. ⚡

Every call, referral, review, and recommendation supports our family, and we truly appreciate it!

⚡ DID YOU KNOW? ⚡

Installing a ceiling fan? Make sure it’s mounted to a fan-rated electrical box!

Since the 1996 NEC, electrical boxes used to support ceiling fans have been required to be specifically rated for the weight and movement of a fan.

A standard light box is not strong enough and could loosen or even fail over time.

🔧 Brayer Electric LLC — making sure what’s behind your ceiling fan is just as safe as what you can see.
