A design presentation is the first time a home stops being an idea.

Screens flatten everything. Grout lines, stain depth, the weight of a pull — none of it survives a PDF.

So we bring the real thing to the table:

01 · Renderings at full size, printed large enough to stand over
02 · The actual tile sheet, so scale and grout line read true
03 · Wood samples compared in your daylight, not ours
04 · Hardware you can hold before it is ordered
05 · One board per room, in the order we will order them

Most of the decisions that used to take two weeks of email get made in that one meeting. That is the whole point.

Real talk — modern doesn't mean cold, and contemporary doesn't mean modern.
They get lumped together constantly and it's honestly one of my favorite things to clear up with clients.

Modern = clean lines, intentional simplicity. Contemporary = whatever's happening right now, which shifts by the decade.

My style? A little of both — clean lines with a curve thrown in so it never feels too rigid.

Most people design a home office backwards — desk first, everything else as an afterthought.

This one started with the wall.

That geometric wood detail wasn't an add-on. It set the tone for every material choice that followed — the walnut built-ins, the brass hardware, the leather chair that actually gets used, not just styled for photos.

The hallway everyone walks past on their way to the "real" rooms — until it looks like this.

We treated this transition space like it mattered just as much as the kitchen or the living room: a patterned ceiling moment, layered mirrors that catch the light differently at every angle, warm brass and candlelight details. Then you keep walking, and the whole home opens up to the lake.

This is the kind of moment that gets lost if you only design the "big" rooms. The in-between spaces are where a home starts to feel considered.

A client asked me a question a few weeks into her renovation that wasn't really about paint colors.

Mid-decision-fatigue, standing in her kitchen, she finally said it out loud: "Did I make a mistake?"

That's the part no one tells you about this job. Half of it isn't design — it's standing next to someone while they make forty decisions they've never had to make before, when every one feels like it could be the wrong one.

What I've learned to say back: you didn't make a mistake. You made a decision with the information you had. That's all any of us can do — and we can still adjust.

Most people think this job is picking finishes. A lot of it is actually this — walking someone through why one material makes sense over another, watching a decision go from overwhelming to certain.

It's not in the contract. It's not a deliverable. But it's the actual job.

Clients don't remember the fabric swatches. They remember who stayed calm when they weren't.

Swipe through — this is the entire palette. Black. Matte white. Warm brass. A few honed limestone textures. Nothing more.
