Plant Fam! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Unfortunately, I have some sad news to share today. It’s time for myPlantTerra to close. I took the past week to be up north and relax to reflect. I’m planning our last day on August 11 or sooner if we sell out of plants. In terrific news, this in NO way affects Paper Street Soap and you’ll probably see me on special events helping out. Victoria makes amazing products that I love and use daily.
Come see us, use your gift cards and rewards soon. I’m trying to make sure everyone has a chance to stop in. No rewards will accrue, but use what you have until July 28.
I started the company as a hobby, and it’s been pretty much been self sustaining the entire time. I never minded throwing in some money here and there to keep it going, but the 2023 holiday season was really hard and I almost closed in the first quarter of this year, but I decided to go big or go home in February. I’ve got about 10k in personal money that I’ll owe after we close and I can’t justify investing more. So it’s time to go home.
This community has embraced me and I’ve loved getting to know each and every one of you. It’s a hard goodbye to say, but I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished. From community sponsorships and donations (those requests happen weekly, at least), to the Christmas shopping adventures for the Tecumseh club at Hopscotch Kids that have been private until now (10% of holiday sales, not profits always donated) to being a member of the Pride planning committee and farmers market committee, I’m grateful for getting to know the community and being an active participant. I will continue in those endeavors as a non business member.
Thank you! Please, please shop local when you can. We as consumers make all the difference.
