Friendomers often ask what I collect so thought I'd share one of MY COLLECTIONS every now and then with you!!

I got started on STICK SPONGE (aka stick spatter) antiquing with my Aunt Joyce. We would try to outdo each other on best find, but her years-long cupboard full of this colorful pottery could not be matched. It was made in England, Scotland and much of Europe, and sold in the US from 1830 until the early 1900's. Painted with small sponge pieces, cut in shapes, and attached to the end of a stick, it is true FOLK ART... No two pieces alike! Great collections represent MEMORIES of places we've been and people we've known. When I look my stick sponge, I think of Mid-West treasure hunting with my Aunt ♥️

Add to or start up… these shops are a COLLECTOR’S PARADISE… stroll thru and see what inspires YOU‼️

NEED … no wait let me rephrase 😜 … WANT stylish storage? Just dropped this beauty at Granny's Attic Antique Mall today! Tall STEP BACK CABINET. Golden OAK. 100+ years old. As solid and sturdy as the day it was made-in the USA!

The HOOSIER CABINET 1890-1930. A revolutionary kitchen creation. Before built-in cabinets and countertops there were HOOSIERS providing worktops and storage. The Sellers Co was the first followed by Hoosier, McDougall, Boone, Napanee and Wilson. As most were built in Indiana-Hoosier became the generic name for all. Some were oak others paint grade wood. All had a pull out metal working surface plus pan, linen and utensil storage. Some had flour sifters and sugar dispensers.

I believe this one is a WILSON. The patent date plaque reads June 1900. Beautiful OAK with a galvanized metal extendable work surface. Two pieces. Clean, solid and in great condition!
