2700K vs. 3000K — it sounds like a technical decision, and it can be. RoseAnn says it can also sometimes be an emotional one.

Color temperature shapes how a space feels, how materials read, and how people experience an environment. And it's one of the most powerful tools in a lighting spec.

Here's a simple guide:

🕯️ Warm (2200K–3000K) — Hospitality, restaurants, luxury residential, wellness. Comfortable, inviting, flattering to finishes and skin tones.

☀️ Neutral (3500K–4000K) — Office, retail, education, mixed-use. The sweet spot between comfort and clarity.

💡 Cool (4000K–5000K) — Medical, healthcare, labs, task-heavy spaces. Crisp, energizing, visibility-focused.

Mixed spaces? Those require the most intention of all.
RoseAnn's advice: get color temperature into the conversation early — not at the submittal stage. When it's considered alongside the architecture and the function of a space, it becomes one of the most effective design decisions you can make. 🎨

Some trips are about more than business — they're about building relationships. And apparently, spotting buffalos. 🤝

We headed to Orange County for a factory visit with the incredible team at . Michael and Sean brought along Carolina & Emma from SPS and Maria & Janeth from LSW for a few days packed with learning, laughs, and a whole lot of inspiration. From touring the LEDRA facility to sharing a meals together and exploring the beauty of Catalina Island — where yes, we came face to face with actual buffalos 🦬 — this trip was one for the books.
