Got the forge fired up over the weekend. I'd give it 98% success rate overall. I built some girders for my anvil stand to hold hammers and tongs. Then looking at my work I couldn't stand the thought of using store bought chromium lag bolts so I made some nails to attach the girders.
My favorite project though is my key chain bottle opener. Proof of concept with some adjustment to the jig and this will be a staple product in the shop.

I'll never understand why some folks would use their business page politically. That's something you'll not see happen at WarBoar. I grew up in my grandparents house and couldn't tell you if they were Democrat or Republican. In fact I remember asking both of them who they thought should be president. Clinton ,Dole, or Perot. I remember thinking Clinton was kinda cool because he was kind of a jazzy gangster yet some how hillbilly type, hip as my mom would say. Yet he had balanced the budget "whatever that meant"
Perot seemed like the hall monitor but seemed serious about his concerns for the country, and I honestly couldn't tell you thing about Bob Dole. His name barley rings a bell. I was 14 and my Nan and Pops wouldn't directly tell me who they intended to vote for, but I could tell how each of em leaned looking back. I believe it was out of privacy and respect for each other more than anything. I dont think they voted the same way nor using party lines.
I think people put to much stock in politics and somewhere it became normal to scream your belief into the face of those opposed.
The point is "business cognition", why would you want to automatically reduce your sales by 50% by alienating half of your potential customers base in a heightened political climate? Realistically, with niche consumer goods it probably only 30-40% but,... I'd rather make my dollar and mind my own business than make 60 cents and have my shop closed because I'm busy doing something that isn't profitable to my shop... I'm not a business major. In fact I dropped out because they stopped teaching things that pertained to real life. I find it ironic that it seems like now that may have been an advantage of sorts.
Anyway I'm not saying rant over, its not a rant rather than a long winded opinion.
Have a great week ahead and I hope everyone eventually chooses privacy over politics.

What's up Boar Buddies!?
It's a cold frozen tundra outside but the bench is cleared off and the wood stove is cooking. So is mah 🐗 brain.
Got a lot of new equipment, added some wings of the shop unfortunately they're outside wings with no heat but there's a lot of cool s**t I'm piecing together around here. The most recent thing is new labels for my home brew mead. Dig yer tusks into that small batch fun.

Go do cool stuff.
I spent the weekend with some old pals for a knife making workshop. Left to right. Tony Powers slick micarta work on one of his blade designs, One of Nick Dunham 's beautiful Strange Raven Outdoors blades with rosewood scale, my classmate Dave did a fantastic job on his knife with flared lanyard hole and peened rivets. Those scales had some of the prettiest designs I've ever seen. Across the bottom is my fully functional art/history inspired Viking seax. I blended a couple of Tony's existing knife profiles with the Strange Raven blade texture technique, and hand peened copper rivets with spalted scales.
