🌻 Do you wish you could visit our Mercantile? Have You Visited Our Website Lately? 🌻

As the world seems to get more complicated every day, I find myself drawn to things that are simple, genuine, and "real".

A small-batch food product made by people who care about quality.

A cozy throw blanket on a cool fall evening.

A beautiful piece of home décor that makes you smile every time you walk into the room.

A thoughtful gift that doesn't cost a fortune.

That's exactly why we're expanding The Queen's Treasures website into something much more than toys.

Little by little, every day, we'll adding products I personally love. Things I would buy for my own home, my family, my kitchen, and my gift closet.

Today's additions feature a collection a collection of Bullafo Plaid farmhouse-inspired items, gourmet foods, snacks ready for game day, and gifts that reflect the cozy, comfortable, lifestyle we are building at The Mercantile!

Every product is hand-selected. Every product is there because I genuinely like it. And we're just getting started.

Today I had the pleasure of spending an hour speaking with two students from Cambridge who are researching tariffs, small businesses, and ways to reduce the economic damage caused by sudden policy changes.

What struck me most was not just their intelligence, but their curiosity. They asked thoughtful questions, challenged assumptions, listened carefully, and genuinely wanted to understand how government policies affect real businesses and real people.

As a small business owner, you know I spend a lot of time talking about challenges. Today reminded me why I continue to do it.

Young people truly are our future.

If we want better solutions, better policies, and a stronger economy, we need to share what we've learned with the next generation. We need to be honest about our successes, honest about our mistakes, and willing to provide guidance when experience tells us someone may be heading down the wrong path.

The conversation was comfortable, enlightening, and surprisingly hopeful. These students weren't approaching the topic from a political perspective. They were approaching it from a problem-solving perspective. They wanted to understand the real-world consequences of economic decisions and explore ways to help businesses better navigate uncertainty.

That gives me hope.

For all the discussion about what's wrong, there are still bright, motivated young people asking important questions and looking for meaningful solutions.

Thank you to the Cambridge students who took the time to chat with me today. I learned from you as much as you may have learned from me.

The future is in good hands if we continue to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, innovation, and open dialogue.

Many of you have been incredibly supportive of what I have been trying to do, and for that I am truly grateful.

The struggle facing small American brands like ours has been far more difficult than most people realize. Behind every product, every order, and every small business is a family making sacrifices, working long hours, and fighting to keep a dream alive.

Today, I published a post on our website sharing the reality of what many small businesses are experiencing. It is my story, but it is also the story of thousands of entrepreneurs across America who played by the rules, created jobs, invested in their communities, and still find themselves struggling to be heard. The media is not covering our journey. The government does not seeming care.

Everything I wrote is real. Everything is verifiable. And while the story is personal, the issues extend far beyond my own company.

I believe the American Dream should still be available to ordinary people willing to work hard, take risks, and build something meaningful. Unfortunately, for many small business owners, that dream feels further away than ever.

I am not speaking up only for myself. I am speaking up for the next generation.

I fight for my granddaughter. I am the "No-No Nonna," because I want to a country like I was blessed to grow up in. her to grow up Where creativity, hard work, innovation, and determination still matter.

Please take a few minutes to read the article. If it resonates with you, share it. Start a conversation. Ask questions. Demand better.

We can do better for the next generation.

Hi all... it's Joann (aka The Queen)!

I have to admit, I haven't felt much like a "Queen" this summer. Unfortunately, I've been pretty under the weather, and we've continued to be very short-staffed. The good news is that I'm finally starting to feel a little better, and all that time spent resting at home has made my creativity absolutely explode!

Please know that even though I've been mostly homebound, I haven't stopped working. I've been putting in long hours from my couch, planning, creating, and dreaming up exciting things for The Queen's Treasures.

And trust me... we have some wonderful surprises coming!

We're working on:

A new version of Jack that we feel is even more historically accurate
A new, more affordable horse
AMAZING new (non GMO) pantry products
Beautiful new Little House on the Prairie gift packs just in time for the holidays

We're also expanding our website with products we genuinely love from companies we admire. You'll see new categories, unique gifts, and even antiques accompanied by historical context designed to help our Little Ones learn what life was like before electricity, modern conveniences, and screens.

I couldn't be more excited about what's ahead.

So keep an eye on our page, open those emails when they arrive, and most importantly, help us spread the word about our little brand. Small businesses like ours depend on customers who believe in what we're doing, and your support means more than I can ever express.

Thank you for standing by us through the years, through the challenges, and through the exciting new chapters still to come.

With gratitude,

Joann ❤️

Right now... I'm devastated. A country icon, a woman who came from less than nothing, rose to the top, and never forgot her roots is gone. Dolly Parton was not only incredibly talented, but incredibly kind and incredibly philanthropic.

I have never publicly revealed this before, but 9 years ago, I was so deeply honored to be asked to design and create a "Coat of Many Colors" Dolly Doll for Dollywood. Dollywood has sold thousands of this doll created for the next generation to learn her story.

Having made a commitment years ago to provide young children with strong, positive female role models, Dolly was a person whose story absolutely fit my personal company goal. To me, she is country music’s Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Cheers to you, Dolly. You lived up to your name and left the world a better place. 🤍🕊️

And I may be a "Queen," but let me assure you... we have no gardener and no landscaper around here. 😄

Truthfully, I don't consider myself much of a gardener at all.

But what kind of garden would a Little House on the Prairie lover create?

Here's mine.

I was lucky enough to find a couple of old wagon beds that had seen better days, and instead of letting them go to waste, we gave them a new purpose as raised garden beds. The rest is raised-bed history!

Being Italian, my wagons are overflowing with San Marzano tomatoes. My newest addition is what I jokingly call my "Off the Boat" garden bed, and if all goes well, we'll be serving up some delicious "Eggplant Off the Boat" later this season. Hopefully, there will be a "sea" of blueish purple flowers filled in by next year, looking like a wavy lake.

There's just something satisfying about repurposing a piece of history, growing your own food, and enjoying a little taste of simpler times.

What's growing in your garden this year?

The Ingalls family faced droughts, blizzards, crop failures, and uncertainty, yet they kept moving forward. Our challenges have looked different, but the lesson has been much the same: resilience matters.

As I celebrate my 65th birthday, I find myself grateful not only for the years behind us, but for the opportunities ahead of us. Through every challenge, you've encouraged us, supported us, and reminded us why we've stayed the course for nearly twenty years.

Some products may be retiring.

I'm not.

To celebrate, enjoy AT LEAST 50% off all retiring items, and thank you for helping us get to the other side of of every obstacle we've faced together. So thankful and grateful!
