Did you know that according to Wikipedia, of the 20,000 bee species on earth, only 8 species of honey bees are recognized, with 43 subspecies. Additionally, Apis mellifera (Western or European honey bee) and Apis cerana (Eastern or Asian honey bee) are the only 2 domesticated honey bee species.
