Flower Duet is a floral event company based in Los Angeles founded by sisters, Casey & Kit.

We provide custom florals, floral instruction, flower experiences and tours of the LA Flower District. Flower Duet is a full-service floral design company created and run by two sisters based in Los Angeles, California. Since 1999 when they founded Flower Duet out of small design studios to 2010 when they opened up in a warehouse location in Torrance, partners Kit Coleman Wertz & Casey Coleman Sch

wartz had a mission to not only create beautiful bouquets and floral designs for their clients, but to also "take the mystery out of floral arranging" for students of all ages from little kids to older floral enthusiasts. Kit and Casey have been long-time instructors for the venerable Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, American Grown Flowers Field to Vase Dinner Designers, Slow Flowers Summit Speakers and frequent guest speakers for many groups. They continue to offer floral design instruction for all audiences with over 200 courses in their premium online school as well as in-person instruction at their studio and in private settings with a focus on where to purchase locally grown flowers and design sustainably.

Always so important to support our communities. Ever since our kids started school we've been donating flowers and classes to the PTA, the schools, sports teams, education funds and more. This week and last week Casey presented in classrooms for to career day at both Redondo Union high School and Parras Middle School.

Phew it's been a crazy October and November.... and we've neglected our posts on Instagram so here are just a few floral designs from classes we've taught and some custom designs and now we're headed into the holidays!!! Can't wait to welcome all of our wreath making and holiday centerpiece classes and galas! We are grateful for all of you ..... all of our students and all of our clients and all of our vendor friends thank you so much for being such wonderful partners in our floral lives!

These are some centerpieces we did for a luncheon earlier this month. Tomorrow at the Huntington Library in San Marino will be teaching a class on how to integrate succulents into a centerpiece using fall peach tones like these.

Whew! What a wonderful week of classes and private groups. We love our flower students! Last Saturday, we held two themed classes: Jewel-Toned flowers inspired by the lovely Marigolds, followed by WICKED inspired pink and green flowers! Then...a full week of private groups, including best friends since they were four years old, and a pediatric dental office staff for team-building. It was their second time at Flower Duet for a flower class!

Just this weekend, we had two more fall classes - succulent pumpkins and floral-topped pumpkins.

In the middle of it all, Kit found a way to make an arch for our very affordable Flower Arranging Fridays Online Flower Course series featuring - Marigolds, roses, Alstroemeria, Agonis, and NZ Pittosporum!

Join us in our flower fun! More classes this fall and winter at our studio in Torrance and at The Huntington Library...Thanksgiving....Winter Solstice....Holidays, Wreaths... and more! We were very excited to work with Quay Entertainment to provide flowers for the Los Angeles World Affairs Council Inaugural World Prize Gala on September 20, 2025, at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood.

Casey was tasked with matching the new logo for the centerpieces, and she did that with colorful roses with blue and green hydrangea stems (like a colorful globe) atop silver footed vases.

In front of the stage, we softened the look with “floor décor” made of greenery, including tall myrtle, green hydrangea, and green roses.

The 300 guests were treated to a family-style dinner service, so the flowers had to be compact and pretty at the same time!

We created 30+ designs for this event and added floor decor to soften the stage where the speakers were featured including Larry Wilmore, acclaimed comedian, writer, producer, and political commentator, who guided the program. Secretary Maria Contreras-Sweet, Chair of the LAWAC Board of Directors and former U.S. Small Business Administrator presented the awards. See more about this group and awards

A few photos from last week's Dahlia Class at Flower Duet's studio. Casey was on location in Santa Ynez for a wedding so Kit taught both classes and did the tour on her own. Sorry no photos of students, but here are Kit's demo designs.

🎉 Happy Birthday to Will! (Casey's son and Kit's nephew.) He's been attending our Huntington Classes with us since their inception in 2007 (he was 3). His favorite place in LA is The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, and we have to agree. It's our favorite place, too!

🌿 Here is a great collection of Will through his fabulous 21 years in the garden and helping out Flower Duet on our jobs, too! It's in his blood. We love you, Will. Thanks for all your hard work, and Happy 21!
