This recently completed Whitefish Lake, MT renovation began with a home that already had something
many people are searching for — good bones and an inviting sense of comfort. Rather than completely
reinventing the space, the goal was to thoughtfully elevate it while preserving the charm and authenticity
that made the home feel special in the first place.

We’re honored to be part of the thoughtful transformation of this remarkable 1960s residence. Defined by its striking post-and-beam architecture, dramatic angles, expansive walls of glass, and sweeping views from Downtown Los Angeles to Orange County, this home possesses a character that deserves to be celebrated.

Our approach has been to preserve the integrity of the original architecture while thoughtfully adapting the home for the way it’s lived in today. From updated finishes and modern technology to carefully considered material selections, every decision has been made to complement the home’s architectural language rather than compete with it.

A successful renovation is about more than updating finishes, it’s about rethinking how a home is
experienced. For this Rolling Hills remodel, the kitchen became the centerpiece of a reimagined floor plan. Walls were opened to create a seamless connection between the kitchen, family room, and entertaining spaces, allowing the home to feel more open, connected, and inviting.

Inspired by modern ranch architecture with subtle mid-century influences, the design celebrates clean
lines, warm natural materials, and a timeless palette that feels both refined and approachable.

Every design decision was made to create a kitchen that feels functional and welcoming, the true heart
of the home.

Current progress at our Rolling Hills project. In collaboration with architect Russ Barto, this ground-up remodel is transforming the property into a traditional custom ranch home, thoughtfully designed for gathering, entertaining, and entertaining effortless indoor-outdoor living.

With the material palette finalized, the vision for this home is becoming even more defined. Every finish was carefully selected to reinforce the timeless character of the home while adding warmth, texture and depth.

Construction is well underway, and each phase brings the vision into sharper focus. It’s exciting to see this home continue to take shape.

Designed to make a lasting first impression, the front entry features a hand-scraped white oak door with custom Rocky Mountain hardware. Once complete, the space will be layered with thoughtfully curated antiques, reflecting our approach of blending old and new to create a home that feels timeless.

Even in the construction phase, the craftsmanship is already evident. From the detailed B-groove ceiling and custom beams to the barrel-arched opening leading to the bedrooms, every element has been carefully considered to add character and architectural interest.

The kitchen is making steady progress. Cabinetry and ceiling beam installation are underway, and we’re beginning to template for the stone countertops which is an exciting milestone as some of the finished materials start to make their way into the home.

One of our favorite features of the home is the California room. Connecting three interior spaces to a partially covered outdoor living area, it’s designed for year-round entertaining and will soon feature a stone-clad fireplace, chandelier, TV, and outdoor dining space.

Craftsmanship is in the details. Each piece of natural stone is carefully dry-stacked and hand-fit to create a timeless finish that will carry throughout the home’s exterior.

Choosing the perfect shade of green for the dining room. The selected color will wrap the walls, trim, and millwork in a single tone, creating depth, warmth, and a timeless backdrop for the space.

Designed as a multifunctional study rather than a traditional office, this space was created to support both family life and professional use within a refined, highly layered environment.

Custom bookcases designed by our team anchor the room, complemented by a tone-on-tone palette of slate and blue-gray hues that create depth, restraint, and a more tailored, masculine atmosphere. Throughout the space, subtle repetition of detail, from the Greek key-patterned wall covering and tape trim to the crown molding design, reinforces a strong sense of cohesion and architectural continuity.

To soften the more structured elements, we introduced mohair seating with understated detailing, layered lighting, and carefully curated accessories that add warmth and texture throughout the room.

Designed to adapt to a variety of uses, the space functions as a study area, craft room, meeting space, and quiet retreat, proving that highly functional rooms can still feel elevated, intentional, and deeply personal.
