NEW DROP TOMORROW NIGHT.

This one is a little different.

We just finished going through a collection of 24 display-case die-cast cars, and most of them turned out to be premium 100% Hot Wheels / Cool Collectibles pieces from the late ’90s and early 2000s.

These aren’t your standard mainline Hot Wheels. Detailed engines, opening panels, Real Riders, collector finishes and individual acrylic display cases.

Cobras. Camaros. Chevelles. Mopars. Customs. Race cars. A few seriously cool oddballs.

And the seven pictured here are only part of it, because sometimes things are left better unopen... wait a minute! These have been opened! Maybe someone will catch the Easter egg this time since no one caught the first one!

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 — 8:00 PM ET

We’ll start dropping them one at a time, individually priced, right here on Unopened Mints.

If premium die-cast is your thing, keep an eye on the page tomorrow night.

24 cars. One drop. 8 PM.

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEM 10 ⬇⬇

The pink-and-black 1956 Garton Kidillac is one of the recognizable early Kiddie Car Classics designs. Issued in 1994, it reflects the tailfin-era styling that made Garton pedal cars miniature versions of the big American cars children saw on the road.

This unopened example is part of the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION and is a clean early-series piece for a Hallmark or vintage pedal-toy display, preserving that original time-capsule presentation, because some things are better left unopened.

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEM 9 ⬇⬇

The 1960 Eight Ball Racer was the 3rd entry in Hallmark's Winner's Circle series, a sportier branch of Kiddie Car Classics. Collector artist records place QHG9039 in the 1998 lineup, and the piece stayed in the catalog until 2000.

This example comes from the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION. The racing theme makes it an easy crossover piece for motorsports, pedal-car and Hallmark collectors, with its original packaging kept intact, because some things are better left unopened.

This should be on marketplace by Sunday night. 👀

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEM 8 ⬇⬇

The 1935 Steelcraft Airplane by Murray takes Kiddie Car Classics beyond automobiles and into the imaginative airplane pedal toys of the 1930s. Hallmark released this version in 1996 as a limited edition of 29,500 and retired it in 1997.

This unopened piece comes from the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION and is one of the best conversation pieces in Drop 2 because the aircraft form stands out immediately from a shelf of pedal cars. We are preserving that time-capsule condition, because some things are better left unopened.

Be sure to check Marketplace for this one over the weekend!

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEMS 6 & 7 ⬇⬇

Hallmark labeled the 1938 Garton Lincoln Zephyr as the 4th Luxury Edition in the Kiddie Car Classics line. Issued in 1997 and limited to 24,500 pieces, it is one of the more upscale-looking pedal-car replicas in the collection, with the Zephyr's long, streamlined Art Deco profile.

We have TWO unopened examples in the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION. Price is per piece; collectors who want a matching pair can message about both. Both remain untouched in their original boxes, because some things are better left unopened.

Don't make me post it on Marketplace.

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEM 5 ⬇⬇

The 1956 Murray Golden Eagle was a premium 1997 Kiddie Car Classics release, finished to evoke the flashy chrome-and-gold era of mid-century pedal toys. Collector records place the production at a limited edition of 29,500, and Hallmark retired the piece the same year.

This unopened example is part of the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION and gives the drop a true limited-edition centerpiece while preserving the experience for its next collector, because some things are better left unopened.

Look for the Marketplace ad to be posted over the weekend.

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEM 4 ⬇⬇

The 1961 Murray Circus Car is one of the more playful shapes in the early Kiddie Car Classics run, with the show-car/circus styling that separates it from Hallmark's more conventional roadsters and trucks. QHG9014 dates to the early years of the line and was retired in 1997.

This one comes from the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION. Note: QHG9014 is best listed as the 1961 Murray Circus Car; some collector databases contain an inconsistent 1956 model-year entry. Either way, the piece itself stays untouched in its original packaging, because some things are better left unopened.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Marketplace ad. Remember, followers of the page get $5 off.

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEM 3 ⬇⬇

The 1950 Murray Torpedo is pure postwar pedal-car styling: rounded bodywork, streamlined proportions and the kind of design that made backyard racers look like miniature automobiles. Hallmark brought that look into the Kiddie Car Classics line in the mid-1990s; QHG9020 was retired in 1996.

This example is part of the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION, preserved in its original packaging as the time capsule it was meant to be, because some things are better left unopened.

Stay tuned for the Marketplace ad. This one's going fast!

⬇⬇ DROP 2 - ITEM 2 ⬇⬇

This 1929 Steelcraft Roadster by Murray is one of the more substantial late-run Kiddie Car Classics pieces. Hallmark issued it in 1998 as a limited edition of 39,500, with an original box price of $70, recreating the long-hood roadster look of the full-size Steelcraft pedal car.

From the ORIGINAL UNOPENED MINTS COLLECTION, this is a strong display piece for collectors who like the higher-detail, premium side of the Kiddie Car Classics line. Its original presentation is part of what makes it special, because some things are better left unopened.

Keep your eye out for the Marketplace ad, which should be within a few days.
