🥣 Try it! Bowls on the Pottery Wheel - Come spend an evening and make your best wheel thrown pottery bowl! We’ll start with demonstrations and a short lesson on technique. Then you’ll have time to practice throwing and creating your own wheel thrown pottery bowl.
⛓️ Chains, Charms and Jewelry - In this workshop we will use color stained paper clay, and heat treated wire to create charms and jewelry. There will also be a demonstration on how to make chain maille using rings of paper clay! Spend the day learning, and trying new techniques.
🪴Double Walled Vessels - Donut vases, planters, chips and dips OH MY! This class is best for artists with SOME experience on the wheel, but could be fun for an ambitious beginner as well. I’ll be teaching some of my favorite techniques for making double walled vessels on the potter’s wheel.
🍩 Closed Forms on the Wheel - This workshop will feature techniques and demonstrations for making closed forms on the wheel. Closed forms could be considered pieces like narrow neck bottles, moon jars, and jars thrown in one piece. The skills learned in this workshop could also be used to create closed and altered sculptural pieces.
⛏️ Kurinuki - In this workshop we will be learning about the traditional Japanese handbuilding technique. Since Kurinuki is a reductionary method. Students start with a solid block of clay and will be guided through the process of shaping the silhouette, hollowing the interior, and adding texture/attachments to the pieces.
